Sega and Microsoft to create an Alliance

Persona will definitely follow the Yakuza multiplatform rollout. I anticipate they’ll use the staggered rollout like they show for their multiplatform expansion example in their financials.

Expect it to also align with the release of Persona 6.

I think they’ll try to go for a simultaneous worldwide launch for all Atlus titles, like seen with Lost Judgment and now SMT V. Now, I’m sure they’ll try to go multiplatform as well, but I don’t feel confident that Xbox will be included in their plans. It’s entirely possible they just go PC/PS/Switch and skip Xbox, like seen with Persona 5 Strikers, Catherine: Full Body, 13 Sentinels, and Persona 4 Arena Ultimax.

I got no indication that they plan to do with Persona with what they have done with Yakuza on xbox lol.

“Multiplatform support” literally written on there.

Multiplatform support is pretty much PS/Switch/PC. Thats literally it for Atlus lol.

Same way For xbox it means Xbox and PC Id imagine.

Did you read the whole report? They literally include Persona in their core IP strategy and talk about how their core IP strategy involves going multiplatform.

They then go on in the section about core IP multiplatform rollout to point to how they did this and had success with Yakuza.

They’re going to follow that with all their core IP.

Kinda hope they don’t tie these games down by making them for Switch as well. I am not an anti cross gen dude, but Switch is just too far behind. Unfortunately that’s where a lot of the money is.

I agree, but I think there’s a very high chance that’ll be the case when you look at how the Switch is absolutely shitting on the PS5 in Japan. I guess we’ll have to hope that a “Switch Pro” or something comes soon so the games won’t be held back drastically.

Are they losing money on resorts or i’m reading this wrong ?

I believe they are, yes.

That’s how I’d read it as well. Understandable as there’s a Pandemic which has blunted all resorts and vacations realm.

Thing is, the operating income for the resorts is in the negatives every year. Even prior to the pandemic.

well one step closer to Sega the dream. anyway the gambling business is huge. MS would probably have to buy whole Sega Sammy to get Sega

Yeah they are losing money on resorts. Last quarter they talked about it being somewhere around a 20 million usd loss for the quarter.

That won’t be hard for them. They are top 3 richest company in the world. Even investors advised to invest them heavily this year. The company is never been this strong or at least been a while. But really, the partnership is a great start. I like to see this as “Here I come to save the day,” from Microsoft. We’re going to see movements this year, so it should be interesting to see how beneficial it is.

I think MS is waiting to see after the strategic alliance is how they treat Sonic and Sonic team moving forward. All their other studios are fine with them being the exception. Is Sonic Frontiers going to be Sonic Adventures or Sonic Boom. Here’s hoping for the former.

On the plus side, Sonic Generations with FPS boost looks marvelous. Could you imagine the funds from Xbox on these titles? Sonic will make a huge comeback. I am hoping for the best for the next title.

I’m just hoping this will result in more Sega games on GP. Maybe TWW is just the beginning.

Yes. Although they may have lost operating income on the resorts they could make it back on gambling (pachinko ?) if they keep those divisions listed separately. I wonder if this is how Las Vegas resorts operate, book a loss on the resorts but positive gains on the casino portion. Are all of Sega’s resorts tied to casino of sorts?
