Remake or a MP platform makes sense for multi platform.

It would make a lot of sense if they’re trying to maximize the multiplayer audience.

Who is Grunt? Anyway, it’s almost here. Plus, I think everyone is used to that news about multi-platform. It’s so 1991.

Makes sense. All the largest MP games are on as many platforms as possible.

I would love to see Halo grow again. I hope they nailed the content roadmap this time.

Just posting because it is making the rounds at the moment.

Put on your heavy duty work clothes and take it with a truckload of salt as recomended by the IAEA.

Don’t know nor have i ever heard of this gentlemen, so am taking it with a grina of salt. No offense.

Even IF this is the case, i would wonder if Xbox will start to seriously put the xbox console users first next year as i felt like they put more emphasis on game pass and less on improving the overall hardware/ecosystem unless we are talking the pc app, which did have improvements.

Sorry for the rambling, thought i would put it into words.

I would expect, and hope, that any future Halo games end up on PS5/Switch 2, etc.

Xbox has made it clear that their strategy is to maximize the value of all their first party games and the numbers have proven them correct especially with multiplayer games. Forza Horizon 6 is already confirmed to be coming to PS not terribly long after launch, and I can’t believe they’d do a Helldivers collab if there weren’t any plans to put Halo on PS. The only people clinging to console exclusives as the end all be all are clinging to an idea about the gaming industry that hasn’t been true for two generations now and has been destructive to games since Fortnite. If Halo is going to properly compete as a multiplayer game then it needs to maximize value by having the highest player count possible. Modern gamers aren’t console warriors and most people have always just wanted to play with their friends. When that no longer requires being on the same platform for most games, then the games that it does are going to have a much harder time maintaining significance.

All that said, the new Halo game in question isn’t even announced yet. We don’t fully know what it even is. For all we know they’ll pull one over on us and announce that megablocks game getting revived.

I have no idea, but I feel like the way Xbox internal sees it is that the Xbox console experience is basically as good as it’s going to get. And really, especially compared to competition, there’s no much to be improved. Some quality of life improvements like better definition on the home screen and more customization. The holy grail right now is completely free online, but they can’t do that (or improve dev cuts) unless the wider console market changes on the issue. And both Playstation and Nintendo still charge for cloud saves. The big thing is that Microsoft doesn’t see growth on console, so for the financial types the goal is now to maximize the value of each existing individual user. It’s what happens for a “mature” platform in business. We’re seeing the same on Nintendo and PlayStation. The goal has become to make as much money as possible from an audience that isn’t growing. We saw Xbox attempt to grow their user base on console at the end of last gen and start of this Gen, and it didn’t work out. So now we’re seeing them follow suit and focus on areas they are seeing growth. And to that credit the “growth” on PC and cloud is essentially chasing the console experience. Like the goal post for the Xbox Full screen experience is the existing Xbox console user experience. And they need to do the same for Xbox Cloud Gaming (the current Netflix layout doesn’t work when owned games have been included). This also might all change next Gen if the goal is a coalesce of all platforms. Then improving the experience on one will necessitate improving the experience on the others. For now though I think all console gamers can really expect is more games (first and third party). Third party support is the only real area left for Xbox to improve on with its console platform and they’re doing great on that end (stuff like Monster Hunter Stories) while also delivering tons of great first party games.

That’s your opinion, so no worries there. But the petty part of me would not launch day one out of the fact of the amount of toxicity these fanboys are having nowadays to the point i would make them wait.

Now sure, i have seen many playstation users condone this behavior over the last few months(Looking at the helldiver 2 players, who gave me a lot of hope for the future giving how kind the lot of them are with others) heck even outright call them out for their behavior, but again the bias is still there.

In a better world i would not be this petty, but thanks to this kind of behavior i would not be the kind to let that fanbase have much nice things for the time being unless the overall nature of their attidude changes greatly.

Sorry, its an opinion overall and i do not judge the playstation users who do have braincells and a heart.

Multiplayer shooters need every audience they can get, to be viable.

Hold on, this reads like it was already known that this Friday a new Halo gets announced. What did I miss? Seems I’m out of the loop.

I think it was officially said, but HALO Studios should be making several announcements during the big Halo World Championships. We just don’t know exactly what and I think rumors have pointed to a new game of some kinda being unveiled (and we do officially have teases from Xbox that Halo will return to some capacity in 2026).

Oooh, I wasn’t aware of this. Interesting!

I think I probably was mixing it up with rumored upcoming stuff like a partner direct and also developer direct, but latter would be January.

I thought the rumor about the next Halo announced on Friday will be a Remake of Halo CE single player part?

There are also rumors about a MP title in 2026 as well

I can’t believe this is a big deal. The economics of the video game industry is bad. If the EA sales is not a wakeup call, I don’t know what is. EA one of the pillars of the game industry had to go private then sell out. That means their investors knew EA had no chance of survival in the current climate. No time for console wars when the industry is fighting for survival.

I’d like it if @aarsal could get ahold of rebs_gaming and have a short (non judgmental) interview, asking how the last month has affected him, and what he has learned

I’d be more surprised if it didn’t release on switch/ps

If you are a big halo fan and want the series to not only continue but grow, you should hope it is multi plat on everything. Gives it the best chance of success
