Compulsion
Midnight is Compulsion (dark fantasy third-person action-adventure) and Cobalt is inXile (first-person steampunk RPG).
Oh yes, very very curious about Compulsion. Phil said multiple times not to sleep on them and WHF showed plenty of potential.
Oh man, can’t wait to see what that’s going to be like. Love Steampunk setting/vibe.
And what was the smaller Obsidian game called again? Or was that inXile…
Josh Sawyer’s(Obsidian) game is Pentiment.
In my opinion, SOD3 has always been a game for 2024, due to its ambitious scope, and the few developers UL had. In Jeff Grubb’s report, he also pointed to this release window. I think Hellblade is also for 2023.
Would be nice if Project Cobalt will live up CP2077 expectations but in steam punk setting.
You know, their other games aren’t really to my liking like Wasteland, sadly. But a FPS RPG in steampunk setting? Where do I sign up? Damn!
I see 2023 as follows -
- February - Redfall
- March - Halo Infinite campaign expansion
- May - Avowed
- August - Contraband
- November - Hellblade 2
I have a lot of games in my queue so it won’t be that big of deal from a game playing perspective, but IMO if MS doesn’t have a first party release before Starfield this year then, despite the extenuating circumstances which we are all well aware of, strong criticism(not concern) is well warranted.
That’s my long winded way of saying that Redfall needs to come out in August or September, IMO.
I do believe that Deathloop (Xbox Series port), Age of Empires IV (Xbox Series console port) and Forza Motorsport all release before November.
plus if redfall comes out in october and starfield in november its going to be a busy couple of months. There is also the chance of grounded getting its official release. Iv had dying light this year horizion and elden ring now rogue legacy this month and im playing guardians of the galaxy now. We also may have plague tale in june. Good year
Definitely better than 2021 thus far. I had Dying Light 2 which is my current game of the year, Horizon Forbidden West, Cyberpunk upgrade which I put on hold until the summer and bought Wonderlands yesterday and should get it today. Definitely hoping for Plague Tale in June because as of now, my next new game release that has an actual date is Gotham Knights in October. Where as 2021 seems more balanced, 2022 will be the bigger year and stacked early and late.
Ideally this is still a summer release though.
Redfall looking better and better
Welcome to the community @Varteras
Has Hoeg Law given any lowering percentages of the chances for a 2022 release?
78% chance it launches in 2022
If this is what the game looks like, I will be very happy. Arkane’s visuals are always on point.
Arkane always nails that atmosphere. It was brilliant in the Dishonored games and Prey.
I do yea.
Bethesdas brand, after Skyrim, Fallout 4 is huge, on par with the likes of From Software, Nintendo, Rockstar etc.
In comparison Obsidian, Arkane, Ninja Theory, the Fable team still have a cult fanbase, and are building thier brands out.
Releasing Redfall in the same year as those projects is better for the growth, then releasing in a Bethesda year.
