[PLEASE READ STAFF POST] Microsoft says they have committed to Sony that they will keep Call of Duty and other titles on Playstation "beyond the existing agreement and into the future so that Sony fans can continue to enjoy the games they love."

Imagine gamepass on PS5 :phil_lmao:

I feel like xbox worries too much about what people say and staying “nice” in PR.

I hope it doesn’t happen either. For any game for that matter, it’s just that Capcom’s games hurt more for me.

Now we gotta wait a year before MS buys anyone else all because bum ass Bobby

i hate this purchase more and more every other day

This I agree with - any new, especially SP focused, games should be exclusive imo.

I was also thinking - if they keep CoD and other popular AB titles multiplatform, then they could use this to make Xbox Gold free and use that to leverage the Xbox ecosystem.

I wish I could care about this, honestly.

Zenimax games staying Xbox exclusive was so much more of a bigger deal and now it’s clarified they will I don’t really care so much about whether Sony gets the popular ABK IPs.

Getting them day one on GP, with Xbox prioritised for enhanced resolution/performance is good enough for me. Especially considering CoD will switch to Xbox advertising with Xbox exclusive additional content, rather than PlayStation as it’s been until now.

With CoD they had leverage for Sony to chill the fuck out with the money hatting.

Now Sony can and likely will just go ahead and pubs will take the money no problem.

That is the worst part of this all. I’m fine with everyone enjoying these games, not fine with Sony keeping games away from Xbox for a year or longer.

This would only make sense if Microsoft leveraged cod to get playstation IP on Xbox…

But that is not happening lol

I can understand Cod but why other games? If they can specifically say Cod will stay multiplat they should come out and say which other franchises will as well. I hate this month’s long speculation.

Either what you said or this deal is just to big to swallow for exclusives

I’ll blame both, if moneyhats keep happening, being the “good guy” won’t help the situation.

I hope in the future i can play Playstation games on xbox and vice versa. Win for everyone.

I hope this means only CoD and Overwatch remain multiplat.

Everything else new especially single player should be exclusive.

  • COD remains the biggest FPS on the market and best-selling game in the USA and probably means that the COD-killer is not coming anytime soon

  • GAAS so having the biggest community and playerbase means more $$$

  • keeps Warzone thriving though the synergy with mainline titles (like Warzone x Vanguard at this moment)

  • if they have the desire in the future, they still can leverage some exclusivity through advantages, early access (like 1 week for Game Pass suscribers or whatever) or even timed exclusive (unlikely imo but Sony did this with Modern Warfare 2 Remastered with a 1-month timed exclusive so it’s possible)

If they couldn’t even get RE Village or Pragmata as timed exclusives there is no reason to believe that Capcom is in the market of accepting those. They only took it for SFV because they weren’t doing good at the time. That remains their only timed exclusive.

Well they were ‘transparrent’ by slapping a ‘timed exclusive’ disclaimer on the game’s box.

$70B multiplats :phil_lmao: would have preferred a capcom acquisition over this .

Elder Scrolls is ranked over Overwatch and Diablo. Diablo is a popular PC IP and Overwatch is a new IP. Elder Scrolls is massive on every platform.

I would had taken literally anybody else because a lot of my interest in this acquisition is whats done outside of their current output and we may not see that until the next console :skull:

Honestly expect this to happen with T2 if they get acquired also. If they aren’t taking Call of Duty off of PlayStation do you think they’d even consider GTA?
