PlayStation Showcase 2021 OT

Literally that 2015 (16?) e3 where they unloaded absolutely everything they had planned for all the ps4 and spent years showing the same stuff.

I guess not on the same level, but maybe we’ll see at least 3 years ahead.
They’re moneyhatting a lot to fill that first-party lineup.

Wonder if we’ll see anything from those “second” party deals they’ve been signing. I think most were early on, but at least one was a couple years in.

I know, like to think theyve wisened up tho. Gotta add the fact there will be big third party games being shown as well

So I’m going all-in on this being “An E3 of dreams” level presentation.

  • God of War
  • GT7
  • Spider-Man 2 and Sunset Overdrive Remake
  • Last of Us II Factions
  • Bioshock Moneyhat Exclusive
  • Street Fighter VI Moneyhat Exclusive -Acquistion of Bluepoint and Ark System Works
  • Metal Gear Solid Remake by Blue Point
  • Sony X Partnership with that CoD dev studio guy from Blizzard and Firewalk Games.

I’m preparing for Sony to drop multiple megatons to allow them to coast east for 5 months.

Seems kinda plausible for me I guess. Takes the heat off them for a while.

Unfortunately for the Playstation diehards this will now be a massively dissapointing event. Sorry for them.

Yeah I’m prepared for a showcase that will give the Playstation fans lots of ammo and “wins” for the next few months will they wait.

It would be weird to say “this one’s gonna hurt” as a gamer, but as somebody who loved Xbox’s E3, I think “this ones gonna hurt” just because it will be compared to Xbox’s and some of Sony’s game are just big pop culture wise and will be considered a win.

Also Sony must be pretty confident, because the diamons thing in the latest trailer really shows how much their placing PlayStation and the PlayStation 5 as the “premium console” brand.

Like you pay premium prices to get a premium product.

It’s bold, but it’s clearly working out for them.

Are you really going to do this again?

That would be a decent at best showcase. Like a 6/10. GOWR and Spider Man 2 are eventual guarantees while the MGS Remake would be the only bright spot that im not expecting. Rest is of no interest to me.

The partnership you mention with Firewalk Games was announced in June. What else are you referring to with this? I sure as hell don’t think they have anything ready to show.

I wouldn’t call myself a PlayStation diehard but that would be 33% good and 67% bad. GOWR, Spider Man 2 and MGS Remake being the good and the rest being the bad.

No not really, but it’s my general mindset going into this thing that Sony is gonna blow the doors of the place in the span of 40 minuets.

I don’t think that Sony is going to blow the doors off anything but will have a good enough showcase to keep fans happy until Horizon 2 releases and by then, they will probably give updates and whatnot.

who cares if they do? that’s good for us as people who like video games.

I’m of the different mind that they want to make sure that if/when PS5’s are on the shelves this Christmas, they want to be the #1 choice even though they won’t have games other than Ratchet and Returnal on Store Shelves.

So they unload lots of what they got lined up so that when you see Series X with GamePass with Halo, Forza, Flight Sim, and the Day 1 releases, that you’ll still choose PS5 with (relatively little) to play over Series X with the promises of a stacked 2022.

I mean PS5 is gonna sell out anyways regardless of what was out, but I think Sony’s long term plan for a light holiday release schedule is hype.

I didn’t say it was a BAD thing as someone who’s eventually getting a PS5 (when I can find the damn thing), but I do expect them to try to undercut Xbox’s momentum from a competition stand point.

I just want to see some stuff that will make me turn on the PS5.

Horizon, GoW, FF16 and whatever else they cook.

I only care about the games that’ll have to play on PC due to moneyhats. lol

Do their money hats usually allow for PC versions?

Final Fantasy says no, but Deathloop says yes.

It’s been a long time since Sony moneyhatted this aggressively that I can’t remember if they completely cut out PC versions.
