It’s honestly kinda sad how indifferent iv become to PS
PS1 and 2 are my 2 favourite systems of all time so to go from that to how I feel about them today, sad times

I would joke about the fact they don’t want fans to feel drought, but then I remember stock market and earning is coming. They want to please investors.

I’m seeing it on other gaming forums and social media and it BOGGLES my mind that Sony fans are still saying stuff like this, “Sony doesn’t need to do anything they are making to much money” “Sony will never put games day and date since they are market leader” “It’s smart for Sony to hold back day one releases”
WHY does Sony fans first reaction to stuff like this always focus on how “Sony” is doing VS the best deals for gamers? It’s like Sony fans think they are Sony employee’s and do not even consider their own budget or gaming needs and ALWAYS think of Papa Sony first and foremost when talking about industry news like this.
It is just so strange to see this huge user base just throw away their own needs as gamers and treat Sony like some benevolent charity where these gamers #1 concern are the financial health of Sony VS their own gaming budgets.
I will never understand that level of corporate shilling.

Just a way to divert attention away from Xbox games hitting 20m in 6 weeks and Sony games 4 years. It can’t be helped, this is what they wanted.

Interested to see what classic games come to PS Plus Premium, I assume they’ll be a lot of licensing problems with certain games similar to what Xbox had to deal with. I’m also guessing you won’t be able to use your old discs whilst playing PS1 or PS2 games. I do wonder though if BC becomes successful for Sony and they manage to get a lot of classic games onto their subscription, then potentially Microsoft could revisit older titles that did not make the list for backward compatibility for Xbox One and Series S/X.

People that are making it out as Sony can’t afford to outdo gamepass are missing it. Gamepass increases the amount of spend a user does. What is happening is that someone within their leadership is against it or doesn’t believe that Sony can also increase spend amongst users with their version of gamepass.
I noticed they didn’t say anything on how long are the game trials as well as what game will be on it, i.e. day one game.

Looks like a poor man’s Game Pass to me, which, considering the financial delta between Sony and MS, is a good fit.

Why wont they put returnal and both spiderman on pc? They are already giving them for “free” theres nothing stopping them now.
They’re thrilled. They’re all Sony shareholders apparently so Sony games costing more is good news for them.

Can Game Pass be considered a paradigm shift at this point in time? Because if so, then it can cause major problems for Sony in the long run. It’s a shift in the gaming industry they can’t ignore (but I do think Sony will ignore it on the short term.) They only thing that I see with this announcement is that the base price increased for current subscribers.

it definitely is but I don’t think the issue will be sony ignoring it but more the question can sony even answer too it. If we assume publisher acquisitions keep happening does sony have the 1st party catalog to support their own service…honest answer here, no I don’t think so.

Well thats the think, to MS gamepass is a fundamental shift in the industry and they believe in that seeing how much the have invested on xbox this years.
To sony spartacus is just a way to get more money from psplus install base.
Thats why I always said from the begining spartacus was annaounced it wont be competing against gamepass, because gamepass is an entire ecosystem on its own tha encloses console, pc, mobile, cloud players and its basically (as much as people laugh at it) microsoft’s pillar to build their metaverse (again, whatever that ends uo becoming)
Time for the law take.
