$299/399/499/499.
Iâm assuming xss/ps5de/ps5/xsx. Thatâs crazy if ps5de is $100 cheaper. At 299 donât think xss can compete with the value of the ps5de. Whats stopping xbox from doing a 399 xsxde?
My price speculation:
None of the consoles will be expensive enough I cannot buy them!
The Blu-ray drive doesnât cost $100, Sony might take a loss on PS5D to make a difference from PS5.
XSX Digital would kill XSS if theyâre doing $399 XSX Digital (would take more loss than PS5D imho).
And XSS is still competitive if priced at $299, and even $349 imo. It has all the features XSX has and just renders lower resolution (but could display higher resolution using SuperResolution).
amen to that. We have an account already with $1500 allocated to buy two Series x consoles at launch.

I think the xsx and PS5 will be $499 no matter what, the PS5de and XSS price depends on each other.
Why do you think that PS5 APU is cheaper? Their chips are required to run way higher and number of unacceptable chips will be much higher than for xsx. I think that PS5 APU might even be more expensive, remember tech on chip doesnât dictate price yields and required frequency do.
Also PS5 will need much stronger PSU than XSX, from 1825MHz to 2250MHz on 40CU Navi the power consumption about doubles.
Ps5 is 30% bigger+ stand surely requires more materials.
DualSense over xsx: motors for resistance, touchpad, speaker, battery, gyro no way are they same cost to build.
As PS5 is 30% bigger and pound heavier, means shipping cost will be much more as well.
Having less CU means smaller area for heat dissipation which means on top of already producing much more heat it requires even more exotic cooling to keep up and thatâs an additional cost.
I had the same thoughts, but I will say if Sony is playing a little marketing game with the numbers the chips are hitting then everything would be cheaper. Essentially if the PS5 really is pushing the limits we are being led to believe it is going to be very expensive. The PS5s price is going to be quite telling IMO.
Mainly because the PS5s GPU is using less CUs, clocking the GPU higher will not make the gpu more expensive, the extra expense comes with the more elaborate cooling system required, and we dont know what the power draw of the PS5 is, I think it will be similar to the series X, probably a little less.
Did u read my post , I have the DS at a higher cost, shipping costs wont be to much different, we dont know the final size of the boxes and these things will come in on pallets so PS5 might be like $1 more per console.
Clocking the GPU much higher could very well increase costs if it is adversely affecting yields to a great degree compared to the Series Xâs.
Iâm going with PS5/XSX 499 XSS 299
5 hundy each, they would be crazy to go any higher than that, especially with both launch lineups being relatively weak.
exactly both gonna be 499 im very confident in it
You mean failure rate? Clocks dont effect the manufacturer process.
These consoles are going to be $600, and each wants the other to announce first and take the crap for it. They will still sell out anyway because of Corona. I mean this virus is responsible for idiots paying full price for the 1S âŚ
- $349-$399 for the lower spec
- $499 for the digital PS5
- $599 for the XSX and the PS5
Of course, but it would make the GPU more expensive than it should be if it causes yields to be lower than planned. Ultimately the PS5 APU should be cheaper since it should be quite a bit smaller, but it wouldnât be surprising to me if it is not as âcheapâ as it should be.
If I was Microsoft or Sony right now, I would be dropping fake rumours of different price points and checking how the community reacts. I am all but certain that the price of all of these consoles is not set yet. In the UK the original Xbox and the GameCube announced their prices but then reduced the price just before launch. It was that price cut that persuaded me to buy a GameCube. There is absolutely nothing stopping one company changing the price after the first announcement but if Iâm going to play the game I would guess: Series X $550 Ps5 $500 Ps5 digital $450 Series S $350
I think 499 max for both consoles and the lowest we see is 249 for Series S
499 for XSX, 299 for XSS.
For AUD I think PS5 will be $50 extra and the digital version will be the usual $650.
Series X at 650 or 700 and Series S at $400-450
Just guesses of course
I have enough ready to go as soon as they are up on preorder.
