Look at games like Ryse or Star Wars Battlefront from 10+ years ago - they still look phenomenal. I’d say they actually look better than many current games. Unless you get a kick out of watching a character’s arm hairs swaying in the wind or something. Developers have completely lost focus.
This.
I’ve been playing Hogwarts Legacy and it’s a weird game graphically. The extensive use of screen space ambient occlusion and reflections make it look like the world is always being drawn in around you when you move the camera. It’s distracting. Just one recent example where I can look at the graphical techniques a game is using and I’m like, it’s definitely different than past games, but is it actually better?
I agree completely.
I went ahead and preordered Ghost of Yotei for $70. Probably the price won’t go up before it comes out… but October is a long time from now and who knows what could happen.
Perhaps it will be the last Sony $70.
That’s probably a good idea tbh.
I’m getting a PS5 Pro before they decide to up that shit even more too. (Selling other consoles to pay for it, used prices are pretty good atm)
Personally I still think it’s not worth it over base PS5, but yeah, if you want one, right now is definitely the time. I think a price increase could happen literally any day.
Maybe not worth it per se, but it should last me a while.
Don’t you already own a PS5?
One of my best friends given me his PlayStation for a led while he’s on holiday in Florida
Its the PS5 Pro model, enjoying Astrobot and the Silent Hill 2 remake don’t think much of Horizon Forbidden West finding it very overrated and well… boring. FORZA is much better than G7 too with better racing, and the raytracing looks almost as good Pretty impressive really
Yes?
I’ll sell the old ones.
Okay, gotcha.
So obviously I am an Xbox main console gamer, but my kid has been using the PS5 a lot lately. He wanted the PS5 version of GTA 5 so I got it for him. (Yup that game keeps selling )
He just came to me and asked why his controller wasn’t working. His vocabulary is a bit limited by his autism. But luckily I figured out what he meant really quickly.
The stupid adaptive triggers. He is used to Xbox controller on PC and Xbox where the controllers don’t have that stupid feature.
Adaptive triggers are dumb.
I’ve tried it and I just don’t get it. But then I am a person who turns rumble off in most circumstances. I just want to the controller to convey my inputs into the game. I don’t need or want it to be anything more than that.
Im also in the DualSense does nothing for me camp. Like, on one hand I like that they tried something new and to some degree some of it is fairly neat. Particularly when a game is built with it in mind, like Astro Bot.
But most of the time, it just makes the controller battery life awful and I can completely live without it.
I like the DualSense…
To be fair, didn’t say didn’t like. I just don’t care that I don’t have the gimmicks if I’m using something else. And Ill take a battery that lasts 20 hours over any of it any day of the week.
Well it is the best controller Sony made.
I’m curious what controller changes they’ll do nextgen.
