Sony acts like Horizon TV Show was aired and popularize the hell out of it like Cyberpunk and Fallout. Good on them to push the franchise, but they sure banking on this one heavily. Funny that they have yet to reveal the sales for sequel, but I digress. Anyway, who is doing this game anyway?

But its Sony IP as well, and everyone counts that as First Party in all the other situations. So which is it? They’re trying to have it both ways.

Reports have it that Sony is publishing the game which makes sense since Horizon is a Sony IP so in that scenario, it is a first party game.

This insane bastardization of the completely irrelevant distinction of “party”, it’s the new “AAAA” argument and it’s equally tiresome and goalpost-shifty. The reality is that second party does in fact exist, and the only time “1st Party’ has counted for Xbox is in the past (according to fanboys and media) is when the game is actually developed by said manufacturer (Sony, in this case).
In the end, all this constant twisting of what counts for one but not another is just the most recent spat of console-warring, generated by Sony fanboys trying to weaponize external partnerships when it fits their narrative, and glossing over it when it doesn’t. So I’d really like to avoid continuing to bring that garbage here please (aimed at everyone, not an individual).

The mental gymnastics are curious
Everybody started calling games like Helldivers 2 or even Ronin first party games when they have been called 2nd party for decades, we all know why.
It’s funny to see these same people putting all kind of excuses for this specific game

If anyone is looking to buy a PS5, there’s currently a promo deal on PlayStation Direct which includes a whopping €230 of Netflix credit.
The consoles are discounted slightly as well, so I basically just got a PS5 Digital for €169.
