When do you guys think the next ND game will come out (excluding TLOU2 remaster)?
Probably end of the gen, right? Hopefully it isn’t a cross-gen game.
The frustrating thing about this cancelation is that this project probably pushed back their production pipeline by a few years. I really want to see a new IP from ND, but they probably need to push out TLOU3 and maybe another Uncharted game (unless another studio takes the project) before trying something new. So, I highly doubt we get a new IP from ND this gen or even the early part of the next gen.

A straight up sequel will take you 5 years. Tlou3 wont have multiplayer either…and it will have a delay pushing it to 2029.
New IP? 2030.

Maybe around 2027 perhaps later if they had live-service desires too and now requires a redesign.

I still wonder why they didn’t just do a smaller scale factions by providing a better version of TLOU MP. I think most players just wanted that but I assume Jim Ryan wanted GaaS money
They have multiple internal teams, though they have mentioned having trouble balancing projects that require full scale resources in the past.
One of the major reasons they made The Last of Us Part 1 was because they weren’t ready to enter fullscale production on a project yet and wanted a short project for staff to work on while creative staff focused on pre-production. This was all seperate to the factions team so a new singlr player title probably entered full scale production with the release of Part 1 in Fall 2022.
Considering they had time to upgrade the engjne and familiarise themselves with the new hardware, as well as a healthly preproduction schedule - late 25/26 maybe?

There will be surely a port of Last of US 2 synced with the show. And maybe a remaster of the 1st trilogy of Uncharted if a new movie is made.
ND can not live without a new game for so many years.
TLOU Season 2 is expected in 2025 though. You mean a PC port?
Not looking good for the VR market:
Despite a regular amount of complaints, Microsoft were smart to stay out of the VR market as it is. The tethered VR market is like 1.5m units sold in total.

I kept saying that until the tech is there it’s not going to be a thing, it needs to be wireless with low latency and good battery life for starters.
Also it needs to be standardised which won’t happen this early into it’s infancy, until then people can’t build up libraries of older titles (back compat).
I think MS should still keep their eyes on it as there’s a chance it will kick off in the future, however I don’t think it will be this or even next gen.

Probably the same feeling for portable devices. They’re likely monitoring Asus, Valve, and others to see if it’s worth investing for themselves or just be “third party” to them.
In 10 years or so the next hype cycle will start. Its not the first time and will not be the last time.

Supposedly, PS has been fined by French authorities due to PS4 controllers being “abused” since it’s the dominant market. If so…
