They might need to if these projections turn out to be correct. Jim Ryan will still be getting pressure from Kaz to keep improving PlayStation’s revenue and this is one way to do it.

Also, can we laugh again at that analyst’s projection last week or the week before where the PS5 will outsell Xbox 2:1 this year lol.

Wish I could get one

Ok don’t wanna sound like an Xbot but dear god that SoP was baaaaaad. Literally almost no gameplay at all. Super misleading (putting that very, very mildly here) marketing claim about ray tracing (which is only in replays and garage, not in-game). Really flat and boring visually. The presenter was boring too. /eeeek

Totally agree with you, a bore fest and the game looks ok, but nothing mind blowing.

Such a contrast to some responses posted elsewhere.

The audio was kinda bad, the rain spray effects looked awful and it looks like they mainly showed replay footage which always looks better than in game footage. The amount of weirdness in there too like that car cafe thing lol and the whole we made stars look great.

The showcase felt like an Apple press conference which talks about things in a super weird way to make it sound so elegant and grand lol.

Some of the stuff was just as bad as the AoE catapult gamescom thing haha.

Edit: oh and I forgot to mention there is MTX that allows you to buy in game cash… no wonder they were charging so much for some of those cars.

They talked about rain but i didnt see any rain. Just a wet road. No talk for AI. But with Jaguar CPUs i didnt expect it though. Replays were stuttering and sub 30 sometimes. Overall a very boring state of play or should we say state of replay

I liked the state of play and thought it was great and I absolutely dont care for any kind of racing game series in the slightest. Gave a glimpse of like every feature and went into detail (a bit too much at times) for the stuff thats in the game and Id love for xbox to do the same for their games using the main channels and not leabing it to the individual studios at times.

Like this SOP announcement and showcase came directed at everyone while I feel most of the xbox shows get lost if you dont particularly follow the game/studio.

Even at that ‘other’ place the reactions were basically on both ends of the spectrum. It genuinely looks ‘real good’ but not ‘amazing’ for a PS4 game imho.

GT7 will turn out to be good if it’s like 1-3. The SoP was kinda long and it bored some people but they had alot to show since we didn’t get any info about the game until now.

Yeah I have been wondering if its just been my stream but there was constant stutter and some of the reflections on the cars looked super blocky and were running at 15fps at best. I would call it uneven really. Car models looked nice mostly, tracks looked very simple and sometimes downright bad. I don’t know but Forza Horizon 5 looks like a generation better to me even if its not a straight apples to apples comparison. This would be a hard sell for me at 70bucks.

I’m curious what Turn 10 will show with the next Forza Motorsport.

I didn’t notice the fps dips that others keep bringing up tbh.

I’m not even a big GT fan and thought the game looked great. Their dynamic TOD system looks great and I really liked the music replay feature. Hope other racers implement something similar. The only real blemish that kept sticking out at me are the shadows. They weren’t that high of a resolution or filtered well. Otherwise it’s an awesome looking game and they did a good job covering many parts of the game, even if I’m not interested in some of it.

The lighting in GT has no peers in the racing scene, I love that muted realistic look.

Looks fantastic as a pure sim but other aspects of the fidelity look pretty last gen.

Just a stutter every 5-7 seconds or so. Was very distracting for me
