Well that’s another story.
Climax one of the devs I was always wanted Xbox acquire them, but if this is true and the team is collaborating with PlayStation, I think it’s a matter of time till Sony acquire them.
The team is a perfect fit to work with Sony Santa Monica in God of War IP or other similar games in the genre.
I don’t mean FF only, it’s the whole catalogue of the publisher. XD
In the last 3-4 years only Balan Wonderworld and Stranger etc… day one. The best of the best, lol.
Sounds like TLOUR and Factions might come in the back half of 2022
Don’t care about Factions but im really interested to see how much of a remake an 8 year old game could be. If the remake is awesome, releases this year along with HFW, GT 7 and GOWR, that’s one hell of a year and doesn’t include all the timed stuff.
Likely with a VR mode? Or will they do a TLOUR-VR as separate experience?
No it won’t be VR
Like I’ve said, if Microsoft want any square enix games release day one on Xbox they need to spend a lot of money, they don’t have the market share Sony have, the only choice they have right now is sit down with square executives and offer them a good amount of money. IMO!!!
What they are cooking?
Factions
TLOU remake
Unless they suddenly have changed how they operate that should be it and probably something in preprod.
Days Gone is better than Ghost of Tsushima
Also, kind of a shame Sony seems to love metacritic so much.
Remaking TLOU, remaking the remake of the remake of TLOU, remaking TLOU2, remaking TLOU2 Factions without releasing the original version.
This isn’t even speculation, Sony was legitimately upset with some outlets who didn’t like The Last of Us Part 2 and basically told them they were interpreting the game incorrectly. They know a high metacritic score is important for their reputation.
A scenario where MS get Eidos which then lowers the overall cost of SE benefits everyone.
Highly possible, I still think they eventually hit May 2023, with both receiving a delay
Days Gone not getting a sequel despite selling like 10M because of MC and bad press for a month is insane.
Days Gone sold 8M ??? Holy
When you revolve your entire brand around “prestige”, high 80s metacritic scores, and eventual HBO crossovers, anything that makes the brand look weak is going to be discarded.
Days Gone is good.
It makes a terrible first impression, second, third and fourth impression as well. But I really liked it by the end.
Twisted Metal got lucky for having a TV series, giving an excuse to greenlit a game. But I can imagine them killing it off for good if it fails.
