Yeah, it’s all about how much money, time and focus they put into other regions outside of NA. They obviously can do it. It’s just a question of are they going to? Hopefully they will because Microsoft really needs to make Xbox bigger world wide instead of just depending on NA and Europe to a lesser extent.

I like your optimism. But, the fact is, if stocks of new consoles are established by the end of 23 years, and Spider-Man 2 is released in the fall, then every damn child, every comic book fan, will know which console they need to buy for this game.
With all due respect, I don’t believe the Xbox currently has a franchise comparable to Marvel’s Spider-man in long distance sales.

They only need to buy another publisher with mainstream IPs after Bethesda and it will be ok, also action games have a limited life and also effective sales window, because they have no replayability or applycable GaaS model, while rpg or mp games have one. Anyway, yeah, Spiderman is huge and losing from Xbox is a huge hit, I can’t fathom why, on top of that, they let Kotor go away like this, SW+Xbox historical brand, certain moves are really unfathomable.

Although there’s some truth to it, the actual more charitable approach to that problem is staring yall in the face - Gamepass.
It being a super low cost to entry combats this very problem and the way you do that is by popularizing and normalizing the hardware that is the biggest carrier of that service.

PS5 games are drastically overpriced and most emerging Indian markets perfer mobile games or PC.

PC market is a fucking mess right now. A decent baseline GPU alone costs as much as a Series S if not more. Now is the right time for console to become a viable static offering in a highly fluctuating PC hardware space.
Not sure about this at all. People here already pay for Netflix, Prime, Disney+, etc and it isn’t that nebulous. Sure translating that to games is not an exact overlap but it’s very easy to sell the concept and I personally have convinced multiple people to get it. Also one of the few things MS has done right is having a decent regional price for Gamepass here. PC/Console Gamepass costing 7 dollars, Ultimate costing 10.

Yes, Series S is currently at least 5K INR overpriced. Hope by the end of this year or so, that reduction can happen, then it’ll be very attractive.
Also, not really a viable method to compare against average monthly income when a lot of the country exists near or below poverty line, who don’t (and largely can’t) even care about console gaming.
