PlayStation 5 |OT| This SSD has no limits

Thanks. I have been doing this since Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 generation. I don’t have any documents for gaming before then and I have been gaming since NES but started two generations ago mainly due to digital game purchases and DLC. I then just kept expanding.

It’s set now though. I have a folder for the generation and then yearly folders. Each yearly folder has a game list document which details the releases for the year that im going to play and complete. Basically, the release date, platform (which is easy as every game is Xbox Series X since it’s my primary and only full/timed console exclusives for PS5) and when I complete the game, I put a line through it crossing it out. This way, games I haven’t completed stand out more.

I then have a spreadsheet for rated games which are for the games I completed. I also have a document for the games I played for that respective year including replaying games. This way, I know exactly what I played throughout the year.

Those three are for every year. I then have in general for the generation, 6 spread sheets and 12 word pad documents. It includes my rated games overall, games by year, publisher, overall, what I paid for each digital game and disc release as well as the trade in value I get back for the disc games. Also includes a list for console exclusives as I do care about that because if there’s no console exclusives that I want to play, there’s no reason for me to own the console which explains why I sold my Switch two years ago. Just nothing there for me. I also have a “game rental” word pad document which is basically for Game Pass day one games. This shows me how much money im saving from not having to buy Microsoft’s first party games as well as third party games day one like Stalker 2 and Plague Tale Requiem in 2022.

So yeah, im nuts when it comes to all this shit. hahaha. lol.

Joking aside, I spent so much money over the last two generations including a lot of “losses” which are games I bought and never completed and in some cases, barely or never even played that I simply don’t want to have any “losses” whatsoever which is why im more picky than ever with gaming. Simply don’t want to waste my money and more importantly my time. A game like Returnal is a perfect example. I love Housemarque and I know it’s a great game but it’s a rogue like game and I know that im not getting through that shit so while the old me before this generation would have bought it day one and would probably still have it in my backlog five months later, the current gen me simply skipped it because I already know the end result. lol.

Lol, FedEx lost the Digital Ed PS5. Had to file a lost package complaint with GameStop.

Oh FFS. Sorry for your loss.

I bet the package was stolen by workers.

Gamestop just said “We’ll send you another one”. I have to imagine the package was insured, so they probably don’t care.

Basically FedEx said the status hadnt been updated in 8 days which they consider lost by company policy. It is entirely possible that it gets loaded on a delivery vehicle two weeks from now and shows up on my doorstep.

Best case scenario, you end up with two! Then you can send one to your pal SpiderLink

Lol.

Im sure none of this comes as a surprise because Im sure Im not the first one this has happened to. I live in Ohio and the local FedEx Distro has been garnering a pretty bad rap lately.

In some control systems its common to use all values to calculate the standard deviation, but then remove the ones outside of it from the average when you know the accuracy is not the best for example.

I think this should be applied to meta scores as it would remove troll and fanboy reviews but would keep scores for divisive games

Hey now maybe you get the newer revision with the better cooling

Ah, good. Now you’re more likely to get it…and more likely to find it in pieces once you open it

At this point, nothing would surprise me. Lol

23 hours into Kena: Bridge of Spirits and I still have two areas to go through and two other areas that I need to clean up with the collectibles and whatnot. Everyone must have been playing Kena on story mode and not exploring at all to get through it in 8 or so hours because I don’t see how that’s possible on the hard difficulty setting and taking the time to explore the world.

Finished Kena: Bridge of Spirits in around 32 hours with 100% map completion. Great game. 8.5/10 overall. Excellent visuals and music. Solid voice acting. Good story and characters. Excellent combat and gameplay. Much better than I was expecting. Boss fights were all good or better even though there was a difficulty spike with three of the last four. Ember Lab said that they will be releasing post launch content centered around photo mode and combat. No interest in photo mode but looking forward to seeing what they come up with combat wise. Hoping they add new skills since I had everything maxed out and still had over 1000 karma left over. Next game will be F.I.S.T.: Forged in Shadow Torch which is a 2D metroidvania type game that I will start this Tuesday. By the time I finish it, Far Cry 6 should be a few days away.

Best TPS gameplay in the biz, don’t @ me.

I was very critical of the gameplay in the first TLOU, and have been critical of that in most ND games I’ve played, but my goodness, TLOU II feels incredible to play.

The story is phenomenal, I’d say even better than the first as well, but the gameplay is what improved by leaps and bounds for me.

Yeah I can’t fucking wait for factions.

Got my PS5 late last week. PSN name is KageMaru10g if anyone wants to add me. So far I have Destruction Allstars off of PS+, Spider-Man/Miles, and Demon Souls. Happy to have both of the UHD twins!

Fuck this is the third offer Sony has sent me to special order a PS5 and I think we with my recent bonus, I may actually take the plunge even though I have absolute no need for a PS5 right now.

Oh jeez, say no more

Hey rest of the YHMAH podcast crew, don’t expect Kage this thursday night. He’s going to be understandably obsessed with this GOTY lock for quite a while
