Think twitter is having server issues atm because I can’t seem to read replies on there either right now.
going to be a fucking nightmare
That is true too.
But nobody is stopping Xbox from pulling it, so that should give or have given Xbox the power/opportunity to make some demands for Sony. Time will tell if that’s the case.
For me personally if CoD stays multiplatform (and other games by AB stay on Xbox GP only) I’d be fine with that. I see no reason why I’d find enjoyment in the fact that tons of players can’t play them anymore. For me it’s mostly about Sony and how they have been fucking around with Xbox a lot, trying to lock games away from them for God knows how long, or completely taking games away forever (FF as per rumors)and it would not sit right with me if nothing is done against that, let alone that Sony probably will just keep on doing it, lmao.
Both do it, these timed deals but so far it’s been Sony with the ridiculously long durations, a year, two years, MS most of the time a few months or so.
I’ll provide my take on this in the form of a question:
What will the new military shooters from Microsoft’s Activision Blizzard studios be called? We know it won’t be called Call of Duty anymore.
However, multiplatform CoD raises some UGLY questions when Fallout 5 and ES6 roll around… eventually…
Matt of Booty.
(That joke sounded better in my head)
You always need to keep in mind that words that come out of Phil’s mouth are carefully selected and very deliberate, because what he says can cause stock prices to move.
If Microsoft were 100% keeping CoD multiplatform he would have said it.
Call To Duty
Plz stop
I didn’t mean Bethesda games wouldn’t be exclusive, I meant the damn press nagging again and again about "Well CoD 2025 is on PS5, but why not ES6… "
That’s what I meant.
If that happens I move to PlayStation, what would be the point of Xbox?
So far, all MS comments were copy-paste from the Bethesda situation, this one’s new to be honest.
Another different thing is most Xbox/MS insiders like Tom Warren, Jez or Jeff Grub thinking at least CoD will be multi, and Jeff even thinks this will lead to MS putting a first-party Gamepass on PS5, also releasin the games digitally/phisically for PS owners to buy them, weird to read that when he was so sure about Bethesda games going exclusive a couple years ago.
This would be win-win for Playstation/Sony and Gamepass, but the death of Xbox, and talking about this, curious how on TGA, MS did put a video saying they removed the “Xbox” name from Gamepass for PC, which makes sense, and also when they bought Activision, Phil Spencer moved from being Xbox Boss or CEO , to Microsoft Gaming CEO.
Whatever happens, we’re gonna get intense months ahead.
I’ll say this. If CoD goes exclusive, no one and I mean no one should question Phil or Xbox ever again. This is the ultimate challenge. The one that can answer all future questions or one that can continue on asking. That is if Xbox is going to acquire another publisher.
Yeah, not liking this one bit. This starts to sound different…
"Obviously I can’t sit here and say every Bethesda game is [an Xbox] exclusive, because we know that’s not true," he explained. “There’s contractual obligations that we’re going to see through. We have games that exist on other platforms and we’re going to go and support those games on the platforms they’re on. There’s communities of players - we love those communities and will continue to invest in them - and even in the future there might be…either contractual things or legacy on different platforms that we’ll go do.”
“But if you’re an Xbox customer,” Spencer continued, “the thing I want you to know is this is about delivering great exclusive games for you that ship on platforms where Game Pass exists. And that’s our goal, that’s why we’re doing this, that’s the root of this partnership that we’re building - and the creative capability we’ll be able to bring to market for Xbox customers is going to be the best it’s ever been for Xbox after we’re done here.”
Uhmmm wonder where I have heard the same thing before…
But that was after the acquired them though… This kind of more reads like when they bought Mojang and Minecraft…
Well, i guess if you value the controller (with its much longer battery life), ecosystem and just the console in general…you could stick with Xbox, also buy their next one.
And I do, I love my elite 2 controller, and ecosystem and all my friends are on XBL too. But at the same time you could just sell the Xbox and get a PS5 when it’s available and have just one console for everything.
Shit, I’d miss the controller though, that’s for sure. Truly hope Grubb was just throwing things around, not based on anything he knows. It’s not a happening I look forward to.
Could also mean everything by AB becomes exclusive, except for Call of Duty. Delivering great games like Crash Bandicoot 5, Spyro, Tony Hawk and so on.
