Pete Hines just revealed Indiana Jones is an Xbox exclusive, coming to Xbox Game Pass

Did Pete show any screenshots? Did he mention raytracing?

It’s just crazy to me when all this comes out during the court case how dire things might have been for Xbox this gen had Sony gotten their way. Most of Bethesda’s games moneyhatted for a year, Kotor , FF , posibly Starfield. On top of that if MS didn’t play ball xbox would be deprived of COD , which I wouldn’t give a shit personally but I can appreciate how devastating that would be for the platform. Not unlike when EA decided not to support the Dreamcast. Also fuck Bobby Kotick for that shit, hopefully he’s gone as soon as possible if the deal goes through.

Yet people have the nerve to get angry at Xbox for daring to protect their business?

Wait, that CoD stuff, wasn’t that solely for when MS would acquire ABK? Still not right though.

Yeah, things would have been extremely dark. After a very disappointing and dry 2020, we would have had a quite strong 2021, a weak 2022 and basically only Forza this year.

Personally I would have already had a PS5 here too, because I wasn’t gonna miss out on Starfield, but I’m glad as hell all of this didn’t happen. I wonder what is true about the rumors. Some rumors were that Todd stopped the Starfield deal from happening, other rumor is that Sony just couldn’t afford it.

Either way, Xbox is fighting back against a Sony that had become incredibly annoying and clearly intent on wiping Xbox off the map. As for people getting angry at Xbox. Oh yes, just take a look at GAF. :joy:

No don’t. Haha.

No.

Microsoft had to work out a deal that provided Activision better terms otherwise they wouldn’t have released COD on the Xbox platforms.

Jesus. Did this happen all the way back when they first released CoD on OG Xbox , I believe that was CoD 2?

If i kept the timing right, it was moving from Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S. They wouldn’t even accept the devkits without the better terms. The standard terms is 70/30 (developer / platform holder). I think they landed at 80/20. So essentially Xbox is paying an extra 10% of all sales to Activision.

I’m not sure if that revenue share is for ALL Activision/ Blizzard products or only for the CODs.

Personally, Microsoft should alter what they’ve been saying to include “exclusive to the Xbox platform/eco-system”. The way they say it now is always going to result in a lot of discussions/debates simply because they aren’t being crystal clear like they should be. Such an easy fix/solution too.

I think most reasonable people know what that marketing tag means. I feel those discussions are only fueled by console warriors that are arguing in bad faith or the worst of the gaming “journalist” looking for click bait. I’m glad MS is not pandering to the worst of the gaming culture. I’ve worked at some of the best software companies and some of the worst. The best advice I’ve heard is “don’t make things idiot proof, then only idiots would want to use it”. To me MS is not treating people like idiots.

Yeah, most reasonable people do know what it means but what it means and how some may perceive it are two different things. I just think it would be much better for Microsoft to make it crystal clear because when you say you want everyone to play, that implies the competition’s platforms so instead of having this issue which will forever remain, eliminate it by clearing up what should be known but isn’t specifically said.

I am quite sure that even if Xbox really wanted to put their games on Playstation, Sony wouldnt be so keen. Thats just how they are.
