To be fair, Sony has the film rights to Spiderman, so they have leverage in that situation. Having said that, MS also has leverage and it’s called lot’s of money.

I would be prepared that it won’t be though. MachineGames has solely made first person shooters. That doesn’t mean they can’t make a third person game, I mean Guerilla did exactly that. But still, keep expectations on that neutral.
I wonder if it could be optional. It’s a Howard project, he really is fond of both camera views in his games. For Starfield it seems to work extremely well.

I didn’t think Microsoft would make this exclusive tbh, especially because they went through the work of renegotiating the original contract, shows Disney doesn’t care about what platforms their IPs are on too lol, Microsoft is more aggressive than I thought and they probably still hold back due to regulators suddenly only caring about gaming when is Microsoft doing the moneyhats.

I think it was evident didn’t care about exclusivity due to Spiderman, Wolverine, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, and KOTOR being timed exclusive . I am still shocked Disney doesn’t force devs to go multiplat, but I think they just care about games being made.
It does make me wonder if Sony will attempt to make Kingdom Heart 4 console exclusive

Good, I’m glad MS is being more agressive with exclusives of certain types of games while then also being open to multi plat when a game could benefit from it.
All those years of Sony fans saying Xbox has no exclusives have come to bite them in the ass and now Sony fans are having a hissy fit over it.
It’s obvious MS is not fucking around anymore and is serious competition for Sony, and no surprise Sony and Sony fans never wanted Xbox to compete, they just wanted a platform they could pile on with memes and lulz
Every Sony fan in the world already has at least one if not multiple devices that can play Xbox eco system games in one way shape or form. If they refuse to because of stupid brand loyalty that is their dumbass fault.

When Phil Spencer has talked about expanding audiences and when everyone plays we all win, apparently what some people heard was that Xbox would never ever have exclusive games ever again. So any future Xbox exclusive game from here to eternity will be a gotcha that makes Phil a liar.
That’s what I’m picking up from a lot of the discussion yesterday and today. We can look forward to this same tired discussion recurring around Elder Scrolls, Hellblade, Doom, Wolfenstein, etc.

The message was always the same. They want people to be able to play their games on any device they own, so long as its in Xbox 's ecosystem. One would need to be very dense not to get that and many are, but I think its more that people know what he meant and are just arguing in bad faith as always.
