You know you’re totally right, they are gratuitous cheap shots, they add nothing to the story or characters. Those sections (as well as Erica in the “good” ending in Catherine being her be “OK” as a man) exist purely and entirely for the reason of punching down for a laugh at best, and harmfully perpetuating the myth that members of the LGTBQIA+ community are predatory, evil rapists who do not think twice about forcing a child to do what they want or that they are deviants who need to be “cured”.
I think you’re right as well regarding that person. There was a list of their many “touches” like the above which I’ll not go into now.
