Maybe I should go back to the hub, spend my credits on new gear and come back to the fast travel point? I have a ton of credits already.
Yeah, if you’ve got a ton of credits, you might as well spend it. I’ve got some pretty damn good stuff from the stores.
Craftwing is GREAT in this game. You can change the weapon’s type, mode, increase its level, etc.
Great insight from Benji, love his posts.
Yeah, Benji is awesome!!!
I’m thinking about how this game is what Anthem could have been if the devs had not put all of their focus on their “I’m Iron Man” open-world fantasy.
This game don’t do much from a technical perspective, gameplay is a bit clunky, the universe and story is cool but kind of lame or cliché, but the overall gameplay loop, the ennemies, the abilities and loot all mixing really well together is what makes it rise above the rest.
I bet that SE was going to send it to die and saw an opportunity with gamepass, but I think that’s actually the demo that convinced a lot of people with the coop aspect.
I hope the game is a complete package all through the endgame, because right now we don’t have much hindsight on content.
I’m hoping for the best for this game. It has a lot of potential.
I WANNA PLAY but my friends are like:
Dam have to sleep as well I guess…
But the Avengers’ devs were very active on Reddit and the game also had an open beta. The problem with Avengers is that it didn’t take full advantage of the IP (maybe because Marvel didn’t let them). I mean, Insomniac’s Spider-Man is a story-driven game that had many villains, including the Sinister Six. Avengers is a GaaS with only Abomination and the Taskmaster and a lot (and I mean A LOT) of robots.
Outriders has many differents landscapes and a different enemy around every corner
I don’t know if some people reasoned like I did, but Avengers was dead to me when they started locking content to PS. Completely gone from my radar, zip zero interest.
Oh, that too! I think I talked with @SpiderLink about it. The day one Game Pass deal suddenly created interest for many Xbox users who were previously neutral. They played the game, they loved the game and the word of mouth is now spreading out.
With Avengers they locked out significant content behind a console. A content that’s not even out six months after launch and that still doesn’t have a release date. The word of mouth was negative prior to launch since: 1. It made PC and Xbox users feel left out, and many even canceled their preorders; 2. The locked content wasn’t out yet for PS users to defend it; and 3. Even if the content was there day one, the word of mouth would have worked only with other PS users.
While Outriders’ marketing was good, the quality of the game is the important part. This is literally the first shooter rpg that succeeds in making diablo-like builds and stats, that’s huge and PC players obviously will eat that up.
Outriders looks like a game from the past. The game looks like a UE4 toolbox like many UE3 games looked during the 360 and I love it.
They focuses on what is important not highly detailed environments and graphics. The gameplay loop is immensely fun!
I do hope some developers do realise a game does not need to look unbelievably good but rather should be filled with a lot good satisfying content. Especially in a looter game and online games.
The Division 2 looks gorgeous and is highly detailed and also a good game but doesn’t give me the same satisfaction Outrides does… something about Outriders screams YES I’M A GAME AND THAT’S GOOD.
The goofyness of the story and even sidequests is hilariously fun unlike The Division 2 where I forgot about every character 1 min after seeing. In Outriders characters have charme and the Bulletstorm itch definitely is there. No fucks given.
Played just one mission with a friend and it’s even more fun than solo.
Also, one more update from the devs:
They are really trying their very best to fix as much as they can.
By the way, the automatic shotgun absolutely shreds.
ffs got thrown out. Wonder if I have to redo the quest?
Edit: nope, worked fine!
Just incase anyone was wondering the 5th map has more merchants that do sell epics. So if you are like me and figured epics and better wouldn’t be in the store and decided to always scrap everything instead of sell. And it has its own place at those stores so I’m guessing they will always be a rotating stock there.
Having a blast with the game 5th map also includes more of those history type side quest so going back through older maps completing those side missions now.
Let’s be honest - Skillup.
Not really due to their original marketing. This is purely a Gamepass effect.
They are quite open with their updates, but that is usually reserved for hard-core followers. You don’t go 100k concurrent with only openness.
Exactly. BenjiSales nailed it. It was good, open communication, but the game interest was flat and low until the demo and game pass announcement. We can’t really separate the two to determine interest, but I doubt the demo alone would have gotten it this level of interest.
Absolutely.
Their trend chart would have resulted in a shorter spike. The demo was actually quite mixed early for Outriders which Skillup forgets conveniently. Not expected to be a sure fire hit after looking at the demo, but there were some early fans due to the Gears style play.
The Gamepass boost effect is undeniable.
