They can still release it there. Think as Sony with PS5. Xbox just did it really early, hence many of later titles and unfinished Halo.

Is this still the Nintendo thread? Anyone else excited about Mario Kart World and Switch 2? My Target preorder is coming a bit late June 11th so I’m going to have my launch delayed slightly instead of June 5.
I’m excited for it. I got it preordered already.

Same here! Wanted to get Mario Kart World physically but that 40$ price difference here in Canada made me change my mind and get the bundle instead with the digital version.
I’m kind of torn as I have so much to play on Gamepass right now and I do have a backlog on Switch of stuff I got on sale that I might take a Gamepass break next year once my subscription expires and spend a few months on Switch 2.
But that Mario Kart World sure looks slick! That Donkey Kong game and Metroid Prime sequel really got me interested as well.

I wouldn’t say I’m excited about Mario Kart, that that is mostly because Mario Kart 8 made me sick to the point I had to lay down within 3-4 races. So my excitement is tempered until I know that MK World doesn’t also make me sick.
Other than that I’m all set for launch.
- Switch 2 (MK Bundle)
- Pro Controller 2
- GameCube Controller
- 256GB MicroSD Express (I’ll get a bigger one later)
- BOTW/TOTK Upgrades
- Kirby Upgrade
I might pick a few other games up around launch. But we’ll see.

I’m hoping Mario Kart World can have some similarities to Forza Horizon. I always love exploring when a new Forza Horizon comes out. Smashing signs, finding hidden cars, so hopefully Mario Kart has some of that.

lol. To be fair. I’ll ready have BOTW/TOTK and Kirby. So I bought the upgrades just to own them. The Zelda ones you technically get if you have NSO +Expansion pass. But I don’t want the upgrade tied to a subscription I may do away with someday. Kirby I haven’t played yet, so might as well play the upgraded version.
And while the new joycons should be a bit better, they are too small for me to use comfortably (big hands). I only play my switch docked so the controller is worthwhile.

May pickup Switch 2 next Spring as im just waiting to see when Metroid Prime 4 releases.
Its this year, so at this point is is almost assuredly this fall.

I received Nintendo’s June newsletter which said launch units were still available, so decided to pick up the MK bundle from the Nintendo ES store. It’ll be the first Nintendo console I’ve bought at launch, but given the recent history of prices not going down from any of the platform holders, might as well jump in now. Plus, I’ve got another 6 months of their online sub to go, so will grab those Zelda upgrades.
