The current rumor swirling around is that the GPU clock for Switch 2 is 561Mhz in portable mode. Which would put it around 1.72TF in handheld mode. (Slightly better than a Steam Deck, slightly below a PS4 in raw computer, slightly above a XB1).

Docked could be somewhere a little south of a PS4 pro. (if clock roughly doubles in docked). Should be pretty robust for Nintendo titles assuming any of it is true.

Rumored Switch 2 memory bandwidth is around 68 GB/s in handheld mode. Docked would be around 102 GB/s. For reference a PS4 has 176 GB/s, a 4Pro has 216.7 GB/s, an Xbox One X has 326 GB/s, and the Series S has 224 GB/s.

Rumored Switch 2 is only 1.79x GPU when docked. The Switch 1 had 2x GPU when docked. For reference, Switch 1 GPU is 312-384 MHz handheld, 768 MHz docked and 1.02 GHz CPU.

Yes, the CPU being slightly slower when docked is sort of odd, even if you consider any sort of possible thermal envelope throttle if the GPU was generating more heat.

As modding and overclocking showed for Switch 1 memory bandwidth was a bottleneck in lots of cases. Seems it will be similar for the new Switch 2 if these numbers are correct.

If I remember correctly with Switch they teased it with a Mario picture and then a few days later the reveal, right? Perhaps Nintendo is like…keep leaking our reveal date, we’ll just push it further.

Doubtful, but yeah, we’ll see.

You know, I kept seeing this image, thinking it’s a fake but it actually came from them in the first place. I don’t know if I should think it’s a costume or PS1 era CGI cutscene with greater sharpness.

I’m not expecting Nintendo to reveal the Switch 2 until they’re ready to do so. I will be shocked if they just reveal it tomorrow.

It is official. Switch 2. First time naming a console a sequel number. They definitely want to continue a momentum and NOT screw up like Wii U. Good move.

Direct for the games is set for April 2.
