Yeah both PM64 and TTYD were crucial for my young gaming years too. I have a copy of TTYD as well, but I sold all my n64 stuff.
Looks like I’m finally going to play Paper Mario!
No Wind Waker = 0/10 Direct.
F-Zero 99 is so fun. Just pure fun. I can’t believe it’s real and works well.
And the remix of the classic tunes are * chef’s kiss *.
Cant wait. Hearing that it has its own identity and isnt a rehash borefest like NSMB series has me excited
Ive always been negative towards 2d mario post snes days mostly due to the NSMB series but this looks like a return to glory days
That is definitely great news!
If this game had proper online co-op I probably would have bought it, but alas.
Do any of the reviews mention the difficulty and how long the game is?
Just completed the first chapter in Raincode, been enjoying it a lot its been giving me heaps of danganronpa vibes which i’ve been hoping for.
Nice. Enjoy it! Definitely Spike Chunsoft’s highest production value game. I also grew to like Yuma more than any DR protag.
Won’t say too much more due to the nature of the game. You already said you’re a DR fan so you’ll like it for sure lol.
chapter 4 in Raincode is wild, i never saw who the culprit was a mile away and the ending of the chapter was crazy.
I had no idea this game was out, wtf.
damn, still new to the forum and it sucks this thread is pretty much dead. was hoping for this place to lean closer towards Nintendo than Sony
crazy game. good luck with the rest.
as a Danganronpa hater Rain Code was a great surprise
If Ninty finally brings some acceptable hardware next I will be back on board with them. I have a Switch but it’s a dust collector 100%. No PS yet.
I’m incredibly on the fence about whether to get Metroid Prime Remastered or not. It’s 28 euros in the e-shop now. But I have never played it before and it would really suck if it turns out I don’t dig it all that much.
I can also get a used copy for about 30 euros, at least I can sell that again if the game isn’t my thing. The praise is real for the game but I’ve also seen some criticism that the game is definitely outdated. Such as the save points which can mean you lose 30 minutes or more of progress, especially later when apparently a difficulty spike occurs.
I DO like Metroidvania games such as Ori, Hollow Knight, Wonder and Monster Boy, I adore those actually. Would you agree that several key gameplay aspects such as lots of backtracking (which is normal I know) just feel a bit outdated and not so great? Anyone here that just like me never played these games before until the remaster?
Metroid Prime is one of the best games of all time. The remaster gave it modern controls as well.
It’s bought!
I’m gonna wait for the temperature to get normal again, so that I can play this badboy on the QD-OLED TV. I’m not about handheld gaming.
I grew up with Nintendo. I had NES, SNES, N64, GameCube, and Wii as well as Gameboy, Gameboy Advance, 3DS, and an imported Japanese Gameboy Micro solely to play the Mother series. But I was unhappy with Nintendo starting from the GameCube. I had also gotten a PS2 during that time, mostly playing on it. Then I was VERY disappointed in the Wii,so I gave it to my sister and I got a 360. I didn’t look back until a few years ago…
Due to my poor vision, the Switch wasn’t easy to see in portable mode. So I waited until the OLED model released, and picked one up during the chip shortage, fearing that they would be scarce. I had also begun traveling more after the pandemic, so portability was good. Since then, I have grown my physical collection to include: Mario Odyssey, Super Mario RPG remake, Paper Mario Origami King, Metroid Dread, Breath of the Wild, and Link’s Awakening remake.
But I mostly play classic games via Nintendo Switch Online and digital indie games. I do plan to get the new Paper Mario remake and maybe the new Mario and Luigi. Otherwise I just keep an eye out for interesting indies that skip Xbox.
The Nintendo Switch Online classic games addition is awesome, isn’t it? There are still games such as Ocarina of Time that I never finished, currently playing that, but I’ve also never played Yoshi’s Island, or even any of the Kirby games really. Had Nintendo not made these for Switch we would have had to use either emulator on PC, or Xbox if that still works or connect the classic consoles again, if you still have them. This is ideal.
One of Nintendo’s best studios (if not their best studio), Monolith Soft, is ramping up hiring for their next project. I’ve loved everything they’ve ever put out since their PSX days, so even if it somehow isn’t a Xenoblade game, I’m there day one. Few studios have the track record these amazing people do.
Please let it be a straight forward action JRPG.
