Microsoft/Xbox Q3 earnings FY 2022. Gaming Revenue increased by 6%

I think Xbox marketing got close to a bullseye with the Fortnite Rocket League bundle. They definitely need to do a Roblox bundle. Honestly kids love Roblox so much they should make a special edition Roblox Xbox. I would buy it and put it under the Christmas tree in a heartbeat.

Absolutely brilliant idea, bundle it with some Roblux and it’s a sure winner!

Dreams got nice potential from what I saw from some creations, but Sony never market it as much as other titles. It practically left it dead.

It’s a shame cause Dreams is the exact sort of game that could thrive on Gamepass, or hell maybe if they put it on up on PS Premium it’d have half a chance but there’s no indication it will be yet.

When Sony had more consoles available at the beginning of this gen, no one said that it was because of available stock.

Now the tables have turned and I believe it’ll maintain like this for a long time still, people can’t cope with the downfall of their sweetheart, to matters matters worse it’s coming slowly but assuredly.

I want Sony to do better and be more pro-consumer this will whip them into shape in time.

Yeah, it was all about how Microsoft screwed up for not producing more lol

I mean it’s been pretty clear from the beginning all console sales would be limited by stock restrictions, we’ve been saying that since day one. This is MUCH too early to remotely use the word “downfall”, Sony held a pretty strong lead over Xbox last generation and while Xbox is absolutely gaining ground here and changing peoples perceptions from the early Xbox one years (and Sony despite their very strong games line-up is stumbling a bit) - I don’t think we’re at the point where Microsoft would be outselling Playstation without the stock restrictions. They’re kind of lucky in a small way, this situation has given them TIME to let their hard work with gamepass, acquisitions and backwards compatibility (just to name a few things) really sink in with the audience and start pulling people in.

“Too early” “ I don’t think we’re at the point where Microsoft would be outselling Playstation without the stock restrictions” “lucky”

Get over it. Xbox is back. Xbox will outsell PS5 in 2022. Xbox will continue to outsell PS5 once Bethesda exclusives and Activision Gamepass day1 games hit. Is that still too early, what if, and lucky enough for you?

Get over what might have been. Accept the new reality.

Love the optimism here !

Get over what? I’m more than happy to see Xbox doing well right now and I’m confident they can catch up with Playstation in the coming years - but the idea that in only 2 and a bit years Microsoft would have fully caught up and is “winning” after Playstations frankly massive lead over Xbox last generation is just being silly - these things take time. We’re been saying since the very start of the generation that until the chip shortages are over it’s all going to come down to who can physically make the most consoles, that has applied when Playstation sold more and that still applies now. Let’s be better than the fanboys on twitter yelling at each other about sales number and stick to reality.

Yeah, xbox will be good but lets not get into hyperbole.

Well I was the only one here to correctly predict that Xbox would outsell PS5 this year. I think the writing is on the wall that this chip shortage will continue into 2024. Why not extrapolate the obvious trend that Xbox will maintain this momentum.

2024? I doubt it.

No one’s saying that other than people who can’t cope with a plastic box selling more than the other plastic box. It’s mental gymnastics and it’s quite funny.

What do you mean? Are you saying it doesn’t happen? Cause I know of at least one instance where it did indeed happen. My brother-in-law was holding out for a PS5, but the week prior to Elden Ring launching he added the Series X to his HotStock.io watchlist and was able to snag one the day before ER launched.

I’ve seen others say similar things online. I don’t know why you think it’s mental gymnastics or funny. Of course the PS5 shortage will result in a bit of a boost for Xbox, to me that goes without saying. :man_shrugging:

When it’s said in a way to dismiss Xbox’s success which is rampant all over social media.

Well, sure. Doesn’t make it any less true though. People are getting antsy about joining the next-gen, and if they can’t get a PS5 it’s only logical some will opt for (in their eyes) the next best thing.

That console warriors then cling to this very real phenomena in a way to wave away Xbox’s success, well… That also doesn’t make that success any less real. And it will continue to pay dividends throughout the generation in the form of game sales, Game Pass subscribers, good word of mouth, and reduced PS5 install base, which in turn will hopefully lead the fewer Sony moneyhats.

Most analysts are saying 2023 is still unlikely so 24-25 probably is more accurate.

Pretty funny to look back at the analysis saying PS5 will outsell Xbox this year 2 to 1.
