Full Press Release:
The meeting call will be pretty interesting.
Good. Good for MS. Good for Xbox. Good for my portfolio which needs all the help it can get.
A hilight taken from B3D:
Microsoft returned $12.4 billion to shareholders in the form of share repurchases and dividends in the third quarter of fiscal year 2022, an increase of 25% compared to the third quarter of fiscal year 2021.
We do not know by how much, but Game Pass subscribers grew.
You have been eating if you are a shareholder.
Yeah, great to see it growing despite not having any first party releases and during a weaker period in general. I think once Starfield releases the numbers are going to get crazy.
It’s going to be bonkers with CODs when contractually allowed. Then expand to throw in console edition of WOW and Diablo.
When?
And the fun thing is that Xbox still does not have consistent first party output. Will be curious to see the results next year and after ATVI deal.
5:30 pm EST.
Calm before the storm. When the dev cycle hits its stride it’s a wrap. The first party volume will be immense.
best non-holiday quarter ever, and without a first party game release. We aren’t ready for xbox full power
I’m still hungry.
I think a large part of it is going to depend on how many Xbox consoles they can ship considering the game is next-gen only.
You and me both.
Between Series S and Xcloud, anyone who wants to play Starfield on game pass will be able to, even if the series X availability hasn’t improved much by then
Yeah there’s a lot of people who scoffed at the idea of more people playing Starfield than Skyrim - sure, it’s not got other platforms like Playstation and it next gen only but between the cheaper Series S, PC, Cloud streaming and low entry cost of a gamepass subscription I think it will manage it just fine (though to clarify: I don’t think it needs to beat Skyrim RIGHT away, just eventually).
Xbox has gained market share in the last two months, it gained market share in US, Canada, UK and Western Europe.
