Good tweet right here

Xbox will decide based on the math, just like they did with Bethesda. The math is not the same though.

I don’t think math is the only dealbreaker here, getting marketshare is more important now.

That’s part of the math

It’s going to be a long wait for the definitive answer on CoD.

Jason using a tweet that’s 99.99% about scrutinizing A/B skating on abuse of power and sexual misconduct to try and dunk on people who said it wouldn’t be an anti-trust issue is pretty nasty btw.

I hope all those Playstation fans remember what Sony did to the Dreamcast.

Yeah, It’s very Scheier like. Dude can’t deal with any criticism, and will try anything to be proven right.

Exactly, like no one is saying the deal won’t get scrutinized, with 70 billions dollars and AB history, it will be of course, but it is not about anti-trust or monopoly whatsoever.

I thought PlayStation had “bangers” and is the reason why people choose PlayStation? So why are people concerned about potentially CoD going exclusive and that harming the competition ?

Do bear in mind that Nintendo seems to get by just fine without CoD.

I had just left the game industry at this time but still remember all the fanboys celebrating the death of the dreamcast. It was disgusting, I bet alot of those celebrating fanboys are working in the gaming press…

Sony will continue to enjoy call of duty via warzone dont worry.

You’re expecting a group of people who either handwave away, or actively cheer on, Sony spending years paying publishers to keep their games off Xbox to understand what hypocrisy is.

This acquisition sure has seen them come out if the woodwork though. The usual dross, plus reinforcements from self-declared platform agnostics and “professional” gaming journalists. Apparently it’s perfectly acceptable to these people for Sony to make competitive deals within their capabilities, but as soon as MS follows suit they cry foul - practically begging authorities to step in, while simultaneously praying Sony respond in kind with SE/Capcom.

Screw the lot of them.

The funny thing is, it really have no effect on Switch. Ok, not really no effect, but it’s very minor compare to Sony. The fact they want CoD to remain multiplatform tells you everything.

Thank you. People don’t have to be insert console here guys just because they don’t see a big deal about one thing or agree with some other things.

There is usually more nuance behind someone’s opinion than that.

But Microsoft does fund them.

You would have thought the won the lottery at the time.

It’s funny that you mentioned Nintendo. I was just about to write that: if MS makes future CODs exclusive, they will, essentially, become the Western Nintendo. Where you buy the system specifically to play a huge franchise you can’t play anywhere else.

I didn’t know this. I thought it was mostly Sega’s own fault. I didn’t see examples of what kind of FUD Sony would spread in the article. What kind of stuff did they say?

Dreamcast was amazing back in the day, my bro bought a Japanese one so we could play Shenmue and we were just flabbergasted, so damn impressive. And I remember the hype about PS2 and its graphics, but when all was said and done it was DC with super smooth, clean, crisp graphics in DOA and PS2 version was full of jaggies.
