Microsoft-Activision-Blizzard Discussion Thread (Part 1)

A fair chunk of media figures on twitter are either hacks… and or can’t deal with the fact Microsoft are finally invested in gaming…

Whether it be shinobi, Schrier etc…

I mean shinobi is literally down in the replies saying he’s ok with playstation timed exclusive strategy. :joy:

In life, when things are bad you know who your true friends are.

In the game industry, when big news happens you find out who are the idiots. Unfortunately, we are finding out there are alot idiots that cover the game industry.

What? You’re telling me this whole time that those people don’t have beast gaming PC’s? No way :phil_lmao:

Also in regards to the whole “you cant compare timed exclusives to acquisitions” that sony people keep coming out with, either they are being dishonest or they are incredibly ignorant on what this leads to

  1. Calling a lot of these games timed exclusives is a bit of an understatement considering things like SFV and Final Fantasy which were supposed to be 1 year exclusives and now no sign of ever coming at all

  2. Timed or not, when Sony gets these deals they always become associated with that brand and that continues to have a knock on effect for the future

Sony buys exclusivity, people dont want to miss out, they buy PS instead of xbox, game finally releases on xbox (maybe), game sells like crap because people no longer care, Sony buys more exclusivity/more games continue to skip xbox and more people continue to skip xbox in general

This isnt just a simple, oh just wait a year and everything will be fine, people seriously underestimate the knock on effect these things can have

I love Jeff. And he is a fellow Redwings and Detroit Lions fan, so I love him extra.

Microsoft is destroying the competition, I liked the status quo - says poster, all too happy with Sony money hatting games not to appear on Xbox for years in a targeted attempt to kill the platform

Pardon my language but Muh consolidation gang doesn’t give a solitary fuck about consolidation. The only thing they care about is the horrifying prospect of having to bring an Xbox into their homes and using their precious Sony product approved electricity to turn it on. That’s it.

New flash assholes THEY’RE ALL MULTINATIONAL MEGACORPS. “The Great Consolidation” happened 15 years ago. You’re crying like Sony is a god damn mom and pop shop on its last legs and Microsoft just opened a Walmart up across the street. In the gaming business, THEY ARE WALMART. They been Walmart for damn near 30 years. They lost 20 Billion with a B on their market cap yesterday and they’re now only worth checks google 145 BILLION DOLLARS

I think they’ll manage. Get out of here with your BS moralizing.

Shinobi is a PS guy at heart, even if he hid it well. As far as I know he’s still working for the studio that made Destruction All Stars.

So yeah, he’s pissed, just like many PS fans right now. When your team is losing a lot of ground and the future is uncertain, you just flip…That’s it. They are flipping out…

Edit : he’s not at Lucid games anymore.

I don’t remember these same people crying when Sony muscled Sega out of the industry.

Those anti trust post will never stop being funny. What poly does Xbox have? Monopoly ain’t it. Maybe thirdpoly if that’s a word for the reason that Tencent and Sony are still bigger.

It’s actually funny that for the end consumer, this deal would actually make gaming cheaper for them due to Game Pass lol.

I generally like Schreier, but holy shit he seems like he is desperate for this deal to fail. Such an embarassment.

Correct me if I am wrong, but Congress doesn’t decide on mergers and acquisitions, as that is the job of the executive unless they pass a law that changes what the DoJ and FTC look for.
