Congress needs to update a lot of laws that are ancient. The copyright laws and these merger/acquisition laws need to be updated. If ever our politicians can agree on stuff

The problem is that regulators are trying to predict the future which is something that they should never do with tech. “If Microsoft did not buy ABK then ABK would put games in subscription services if they were to become a leading way to consume games”. Too many “if” and uncertainty that they are trying to regulate without have any knowledge of the market.

Terms of the Sony and MS deal:
- Sony guaranteed Playstation Advantage for 10 years for AKB games. After 10 years, MS negotiates with Sony for parity on a case by case basis.
- AKB titles day and date with PS Plus. Gamepass day and date too but 23 hours and 58 minutes after PS Plus.
- Sony gets 50% reduction from market rate for AKB on PS plus and 50% of AKB DLC proceeds on Xbox.
- All Xcloud button prompts to be replaced with Playstation button prompts.
- Jim Ryan get first dibs on Phil’s lunch. Jim eats first. Then Phil eats after Jim leaves the building. Phil cannot eat while Jim is in the building.

This article is really just reporting what we already knew with an overly optimistic title, the articles from earlier reported that Sony and Microsoft had meetings over the weekend to try and come to an agreement over this. There was no information as to how those meetings went, so I’m not quite sure that they “might have worked out a deal for Call of Duty”.
