Microsoft-Activision-Blizzard Discussion Thread (Part 1)

Spotted this from another forum. From a user called Poldo so credit to them.

It’s regarding the EUs current position.

BREAKING: Italian Site Multiplayer.it interviews Arianna Podestà, Coordinating Spokesperson for economic affairs of the European Commission, who signed the Phase 2 announcement document regarding the Microsoft-Activision proposal.

First 23 minutes.

  • Very, very high possibilities to close a deal in phase 2 with concessions
  • Highy difficult if not impossible to terminate a phase 2 without concessions
  • If Microsoft clarifies EU Commission doubts, no problem, it closes

If it was me running Microsoft, my concession would be a guarantee that I wouldn’t kill/bury Sony. lol :stuck_out_tongue:

You can’t guarantee that as the only thing that keeps Sony alive at this point is their market share :joy:

So… Its happening? :smirk:

I just want more Crash Bandicoot, more Spyro, COD campaigns on Game Pass, Diablo on Game Pass…

Ladies and gentleman, we are in the brink of something huge, with many many hours of gameplay to come.

We are at the brink of decimating Sony for real after all these years :fire: Sega will be avenged!

Good news. I swear I go up and down on this deal haha, every time good or not so good news comes out my mind flips.

I am dying for that :imp:

Jokes aside, I don´t want Sony to fail completely because they still make great games, I want them to eat humble pie because they deserve it and because they treat customers like shit. A more competitive gaming landscape is for the benefit of everybody.

Is this legit?

Seems odd someone in this position would be talking about these things so openly

The lack of news here is killing me! We’ve missed mw2 on GamePass, now the next big thing for me is diablo 4 on there.

Really hope the deal goes through before d4 launch!!

The deal was never gonna pass in time for MW2 and even if it did, it wasn’t gonna be on GP anyway thanks to the Sony contract

Concessions are what Phil has already outlined, it ain’t some rabbit out a hat situation, lol

Which concessions are we talking about here?

The one that people seems to be talking about more is COD on Playstation till the end of the generation.

Which Sony didn’t want and has rejected.

As I understand it, Sony has no saying in that.

Concessions are discussed and “negotiated” between regulators and Microsoft. Sony can give their opinion but that is the extent of their active role in the process.
