Here, it’s in the same article where the Activision purchase was announced:
That’s photoshopped, actually. But it would’ve been hilarious if it actually went under our noses like that.
The games you (PlayStation gamers) are enjoying now, you can continue to enjoy, we will respect your purchase….the games that come later, Well…….
Great news for employees of Activision.
This also is a signal to the rest of the gaming industry. Ignore xbox platform at your own peril. Xbox will become too big to ignore and it’s time to get on xbox’s good side.
Paul Tassi has a different opinion or expection about exclusivity.
MS dancing around all this to an absurd degree but it SOUNDS like:
CoD and Overwatch will keep coming to PS a la Minecraft.
yep
I mean thats my expectation too but wouldn’t surprise me if the annual cod’s are not that and Warzone updates do come.
Even so, Day 1 Gamepass CoD is huge. That alone will cause a shift. Especially if Activision continues with their $70 pricing model.
I think this is what they’ll do. Most people care about the multiplayer far more than they do about the campaigns. Plus, monetizing the multiplayer is where the money is at anyway.
I wonder how the Xbox E3 stream will be named. Probably something like “Xbox, Bethesda, Activision & Blizzard Game Showcase!” Lol.
Now I gotta deal with “they bought activision and zenimax” when I ask for third party day 1 games on GP …
Yep, I look forward to it.
At this rate Xbox is going to have to split their E3 stream into two separate days lol.
I am not even that big of a fan of the acquisition but it is still exciting. Activision was too big for PS to buy, leave it and EA alone for the huge multi-systems sellers, I would rather have seen them scoop up Sega, WB Games, Atlus and some others to help their foothold in Japan as have tens of billions left over. At the end of the day, its not my money and anything to help the Xbox brand is fine, I just hope they use some of those great developers on games besides CoD and bring some really great new titles to the system.
Today is year 2077. MS is the biggest and only gaming publisher on earth and all devs are making games for Xbox Series 77 except Atlus.
They obviously hid the Gamepass number of 25 million and not reaching the expected 30 million by buy Act/Bliz.
Yeah, I get that, this move just doesn’t do anything for me still. The biggest win I see coming out of all of this is the toxic assholes being pushed out of the company. Now if they change the heavy COD focus and actually allow their studios to work on other games, then that would be a nice number 2 bonus. Until that happens, removing toxic assholes is all I’m interested in.
Yeah I totally agree.
Agreed, nothing I said contradicts this lol. It’s exactly why I said the deal doesn’t make sense unless they made COD exclusive.
On one side, i think i would have prefered them wasting 2-5 billion on more Obsidian kind of studios instead of 70 on this, by some comments it looks like CoD will be still multi, and that’s pretty much all they have nowadays.
It kinda looks like a long long term movement, to also strenghten the Cloud and specially the mobile section, which is growing sooo far.
But on the other side, this studio has a lot of potential and is a huge mess, it won’t get worse, and well, Diablo is a big part of my gaming childhood, i was thinking weeks ago about MS gettings Diablo rights to build some kind of RPG based on that lore… posibilities are there.
But ye, Activision Blizzard requires a LOT of work to be fixed, and i am not sure if MS has the capability to do that (or if anyone has it at this point).
Just wait and see, looks like it’ll take a couple years to see what happens, even if this purchase didnt click me, i didn’t think MS needed more acquisitions for now after the Bethesda one, just needed time to get their 23 studios rolling.
Did he also make the call when Disney bought Fox for over 70 B ?
It’s a rhetorical question. We all know Jasons agenda.
