What kind? Honestly I don’t know. I ask 10 people about metaverse and I get 10 different answers. Is it a vr environment, a block chain app, fortnite, connected eco systems?
What do you mean when you talk about MS’ metaverse, cause it truly puzzles me lol
Iv seen a few people come out with the idea that if it fails MS should just give up or even worse, cancel it now and just sacrifice that few billion dollars that they’d owe ABK if they pull out lol
They didnt buy ABK on a whim, you dont spend 70b without thinking it through and we already know this isnt the first time they’ve tried to buy Activision/Blizzard, this is clearly a company they want and its quite obvious why as it covers virtually every area they want to dominate
MS will do everything they can to get the deal done
I was referring to the backend technology requires to power these metaverse. That’s what MS is interested in and is there most safe bet. Let it be VR, Eco system or Fortnite… MS wants to be the backend/cloud infrastructure provider for all of them
Just imagine the most selling and played game is running on Azure. That’s what MS want. If world wants to call it metaverse then MS is happy to call it metaverse and earn profit with rising tide.
Even thought it seems Activision seems to have delete the image, this is one of the things that exites me the most about the acquisition: the prospect of all those games returning to steam. They will be absolutely huge on steam, with far better community options and everything that entails being on Steam.
I wonder if this game counts as part of the deal between SONY and Activision because if that the case. MS could very end have control over COD in 2024 and not 2025.
I mean, if Microsoft wanted, couldn’t they just release some director cuts or remakes (upgrade from old engine to new engine) and count them as games to end it if needed?
Thats if for some reason they cant just complete the contract via buyout.
It doesnt. The next 3 are MW2, Warzone 2, and CoD 2024…the good news is this is what Microsoft were referring to when they spoke of releasing Call of Duty “beyond the existing agreement”.
Most the insider discussion I’ve seen on this has been pretty fuzzy on precise details other than the fact that the current deal seems to cover the next 3 games, while I’m inclined to agree with you I’m not sure how you can be so definitive on something we simply don’t have an answer for - unless I’ve missed some more definitive reporting on the subject.
