It’s a nothing news, all the acquisitions of a certain size are reviewed, even Bungie will be, but I guarantee you nobody will emphatize that so much.
They know Sony will be going thru regulators with their purchase, right?
Like always they are oblivious to actual facts and are lost in their own imaginations. But anyway they try to make it sound professional.
Of course not. People think Sony owns Bungie now lol.
The difference here is that the US will open a full investigation for ABK, while they will have a brief look at Bungie and come to the conclusion that it raises no issues.
In regards to regulators, I wonder if MS could also talk about the improvements they could being into the work environment at ABK. Not long ago, we had that news :
I wonder if they could use that to show they are commited to improve working conditions for the employees at ABK, as a benefit from the acquisition.
Tom Henderson bringing up the NVIDIA/Arm deal like it’s even remotely in the same thing as this purchase.
Yeah okay lol.
I dont wanna sound like An asshole but Tom Henderson has been very critical of this deal because Microsoft is buying them lmao.
They most certainly will. It was mentioned in the report / document thing.
Nah it’s been pretty obvious as of late. Saw him celebrating the Bungie purchase and Jim saying there’s more purchases on the way lol.
Everybody are now M&A lawyers. Crazy.
Yeah, I think the most ludicrous takes are the ones from journous and twitter dudes, who only show their true agendas.
Why would twitter and Google lie to these people bro ?

Everything is ‘antitrust’ and a ‘monopoly’ as well.
The only “gaming media” worth listening to is Jez, Grubb and Tom Warren.
Not worth listening to anyone else.
Like how do you compare NVIDIA-ARM to Activision-Xbox. Im sorry but whoever does that is a lunatic.
The FTC review doesn’t really concern me too much. The chair indicated earlier this year that they do have limited resources and need to pick their battles. This doesn’t seem like a wise battle to pick at the moment. No government implications, customers, employees and shareholders will benefit and Microsofts firmly in 3rd place after this while 1st and 2nd place are actively growing and acquiring with billion dollar purchases. Plenty of competition in the market place too. I’m expecting this through the FTC at about the pace of the Nuance deal tbh, somewhere in the 4-5 month timetable.
Yeah. I personally think people are hyping up the review process when it is more likely than not going to sail through without much issue due to the reasons given. You also need to take into account that the federal government is more focused on the other tech companies rather than Microsoft.
I think this fast-tracks the acquisition. People are super horny for this deal to fall through, but it won’t.
Whatever it takes for Xbox to fail. Otherwise, it’s time for them to pull Endgame solution and take the matter with their own hands. Whatever it takes.
Seriously, they really don’t want this to pass.
They were under 6 months at 5 months 2 weeks and 2 days.
