Microsoft-Activision-Blizzard Discussion Thread |OT4| - Dawn of the Final Day, Deal is done!

How soon after Bethesda deal was finalised and announced did we see games being added on GP?

some days later after the closure, they did put a 1st drop, then months later on xbox june event was a 2st drop, but Bethesda already did put the games on gp before, the ABK is a exceptional thing, this case i guess it will take a while.

Sadly work they can only begin with after it closes. Ah well, thereā€™s more than enough to play anyway.

Are we 100% certain this is the last CoD they have marketing rights for? I remember there was some doubts about the wording during the trial.

Seeing PlayStation advertising Xbox first party games will not get old for a long time lmao.

Yes. It runs out next year. Which, for clarity, means it does NOT include next yearā€™s COD.

I believe this is the last game they have marketing for but the marketing of course will extend through 2024 with this game as new content gets added

So last game but not last year

Well I guess this might mean they didnt manage to get rid of the marketing rights early with Sony.

NO EU investigation needed

The European Commission has concluded that changes aimed at winning over the UK Competition and Markets Authority donā€™t need to go through yet another approvals process in Brussels, according to people familiar with the matter who spoke on condition of anonymity.

This whole CMA decision is like waiting for school closure list due to snowstorm; dying to see your school listed.

I initially read this as ā€˜newā€™ EU investigation needed and nearly had a heart attack

Unnamed sources. Weā€™ve seen a bunch of these reports Iā€™m not sure that Iā€™d invest too much stock in them.

Have to give the EU credit, because unlike the CMA, they actually reached out to Microsoft to negotiate a win/win deal for consumers and for the company. Their other European counterpart instead act like like children and throw tantrums that led to Microsoft divesting its cloud rights.

Oh fantastic! This was the only thing left that worried me a bit. So whos ready to have ABK under Xbox in the following DAYS

EU doing that would be just because of spite against the CMA as the deal for them changed nothing.

Yeah, this is it. This is the week. Now I am more certain than ever.
