Who else is worth following in regards to the legal side of the acquisition?

That’s just the MS/ABK motion. Did the FTC ever agree to it yet or respond?

They have to respond by tomorrow

Just what does the UK have over New Zealand. This is very pathetic for a country not to have its own mind.

Conspiracy Theory: New COD releases after Oct 18 and ATVI stock shoots up after this so shareholders would be unhappy and terminate deal forcing renegotiation. However, this deal is gonna close in the next few weeks all things considered.

I think that goes both ways, the CMA is also received a huge amount of political pressure for their decision. and the lack of real effort in doing their research and relying on gamesmanship rather than merit is also apparent. They will also think twice to pull the same shit again.

Well said

For example, on June 22, 2023, while this trial was happening, Square Enix released Final Fantasy XVI, the latest release in the iconic Final Fantasy franchise, exclusive to PlayStation 5. Previous versions of Final Fantasy shipped on Xbox, but the reason Final Fantasy XVI is a PlayStation exclusive is because Sony "pa[id] to exclude Xbox ." (Id. at 312:20–313:8, 441:18–443:1.) ZeniMax, too, was paid by Sony not to ship Deathloop or Ghostwire for Xbox, and one of the reasons Microsoft bought ZeniMax was concern Sony would also arrange for Starfield to go exclusive and skip Xbox . (Id. at 314:16– 24.)

If you’ve watched the podcast you could see that so much of it is hilarious hyperbole and not rooted in any seriousness at all.

Probably between end of October-Beginning of November like most recent COD titles.

Dude sounds so confident. I cant even began to imagine what happened behind the scenes for the deal to go from ā€œdeadā€ to ā€œmost likely to go through than notā€ā€¦kind of insane if you think about it.

So what happens tomorrow? FTC embracing the clown shoes/keeping a bit of dignity at least and the deadline for the CMA to give the CAT what they asked to grant the pause right? (don’t know if the last part is correct)
