Simply unbundling the subscriptions won’t resolve the CMA’s concern though?

The article has no source and the journalist has made quite a few errors recently, I personally think it’s nonsense.

Watch FTC appeal and win after all this, I’m just messing but wouldn’t that just be a rollercoaster.

The CMA concerns have always been crap, they just want to look like they accomplished something (which ironically hurts UK consumers more)

The one good thing about this whole merger talk was that it brought out into the light which of the so-called gaming “journalist” are just raving fanboys. It turns out a lot of them are. Which is really sad…

I wonder if an xCloud divestment would even be limited to the UK… just thinking about the comments about not building a golden toilet and knowing that cloud didn’t performance didn’t blow them away.

Cloud is the SLC that stuck with every regulator that chose to try and fight the acquisition. Presumably it’ll continue to come up if they want someone like Sega. And is Xbox hardware on a server rack going to meaningfully compete with GeForce Now? Especially if they have to license a lot of their content there anyway?

Maybe they’ve decided owning the content, using it to cement windows, license dev tools, sell consoles etc. is enough for them.

I wonder if games like Spider Man Web of Shadows and such can come too. I mean, Spidey games might belong to Sony now, but surely that doesn’t go for the ABK published games?

The CMA changing their tone and being willing to negotiate IMMEDIATELY with MS over ABK after the FTC took the L on the injunction says to me that those collusion allegations weren’t that farfetched.

I get the CMA has to save face at this point but sheesh.

In another reality, I’d wish MS would tell the CMA to KTSE and close the deal regardless without coming to the negotiation table after them outright blocking the merger so emphatically and audaciously. I understand it’s better to handle the situation smoothly and diplomatically as they are the last hurdle for the merger and it’s bigger than just this deal as whatever transpires will have future implications.

Likely not. AFAIK ABK losing the rights to the IP also means those games can’t be distributed. At best, maybe we see disc support added but I doubt that will even happen.

Damn! That’s unfortunate.

After taking a look around the house I found Ultimate Spiderman, X-Men Legends II, X2: Wolverine’s Revenge, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4, and Matt Hoffman’s Pro BMX 2 for OG Xbox

and all Spider-Man 360 games and X-Men Origins Wolverine for 360.

If they can’t add a single one of these then Activision BC additions is not exciting to me :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

Rand is going all in at the haters. That has to be a year worth of patience.

FTC are definitely appealing this.

Continuing to waste taxpayers money. How sad.

Just realised that once the deal is done, Microsoft could revisit the back compat titles from Activision and bring them to Xbox One and Series S/X

Agree. I’d rather xbox stand its ground and go to the appeal then offer the CMA anything else.

Oh that’s why Jez freaked out on the news. He made a bet that he will have to drink tobasco if the FTC loses. Well, now we wait.

Would they not first have to confirm which grounds they are appealing on? I honestly don’t think any judge would agree to an appeal based on what we heard in the trial.
