The CMA might just go on and unblock because this hearing is going to have them invest in lawyers to read that incohesive 500-page report and remember it well and they are going to be grilled on it while explaining their market definitions. Taking on this ABK and Microsoft is going to cost and have them constantly reading and trying to prepare. I really think they will try to save face. I expect by the next case management they will probably announce this.

He certainly needs to cool off. He isn’t the center of this acquisition which he seems to have assumed. If Hoeg would be where everyone would be turning if he was fully recovered. It’s surprising there aren’t many experts on this. Where are the news outlets on today’s case management.

Probably wouldn’t want to pile in with the Sony dumping as of late.
Drings even worse than Florian. He gets super worked up, sensitive, rage tweety, and starts calling people names. Hes probably the most unprofessional gaming writer out there (outside of kotaku 
).

It was really funny when the CMA lawyer was going on about all this cases (like the Meta Giphy case) that he said were similar for the case to pushed for late in the year. The Microsoft’s lawyer just dismissed them saying all those cases did not need to be expedited because they were already closed before the CMA started investigating them and before the appeals. The CMA lawyer had a look of surprise and immediately started checking his notes to verify. That was to me one of the very first big blows straight out of a movie.

It was early the CMA lawyer really thought he had multiple cases as precedent only to be dealt a blow Daniel the Microsoft lawyer. The look was just funny. I really hope they make the video available I imagine it would become a meme.

As others have said the CMA came into the hearing very unprepared and things didn’t go their way. The short turn around time won’t help as money will play a part in how many lawyers can be thrown at the preparation work.
With the amount of points Microsoft brought up in their submission to the tribunal, I still expect them to concentrate the appeal on certain topics such as the market definitions, the faulty data from the CMA and their remedies along with the support of the cloud gaming providers. Hopefully it’s enough
As much as the day was funny and totally in favor of MS, the only outcome of the day is the date of the appeal.
All the rest will have to be replayed in July.

Yeah that’s probably true. I hadn’t really noticed since I got rid of my Twitter account and only had been reading some of his specific threads but that might explain a bit.
I think the part that bothered me the most about Muller twitter thread was the emphasis and examples on the stuttering. Like, yes, it was incredibly noticeable and yes it was odd, but it felt a little too personal. That said, nuance in written word online is very difficult, so I could have been reading more negativity into this than was intended. Personally, as another poster mentioned, I actually did feel kinda bad for the CMA’s lawyer. For one thing there’s no way they would be able to afford anywhere near the same level of experience as what Microsoft and Activision could (which is a normal issue for governments and can be a tad worrying in cases where you aren’t rooting for the parties to win… Ex big tobacco, other cases like that).

Both the CMA lawyer and MS lawyer apparently come from the same firm. Do not start to downplay his experience.
You can still choose the wrong team. You either be carrying or team let you down.
