You guys are weirdly critical of Zappy just because he’s level headed about the whole thing.

I think its because Zappy has a way of responding in which everything is already foretold and inevitable in regards to the outcome and anything that is contrary to his foretold outcome is automatically wrong, impossible or would not happen.

I myself wouldn’t exactly call that level-headed. Zappy is entitled to their own opinion but is just that and often times their posts don’t convey so much as opinion and construction discussion but as they are hardened facts beyond reproach.

Hardly plausible. They failed to stop the deal on console reasons, and through this they appeared a bit too much like the market leader who hates competition. It is better now to hide from the sunlights.

It was a tangent related to “big tech is big”. The control of access (internet), compute and storage primarily with big tech is going to a problem in the future. Like I said, I don’t really think that this necessarily applies in this case or really adds an substantial harm.

Totally there with you, but other than Google big tech hasn’t made a move on the Internet provider’s turf. If they do, I think it will be for the best as it will force these other companies to innovate or die. But I also think that the Governments everywhere need to move in to create Government funded providers everywhere, that could be an alternative to either.
