If cloud doesn’t blow up then the rejection of this deal will look goofy. I don’t think internet infrastructure across the globe is where it should be for cloud to take off

Not likely. This deal has been blocked in America & in the UK for political reasons. It’s safe to assume both the FTC & CMA are on the same page & have the exact same agenda.
Fairness, justice or even money have very little to do with the decision. They hate American business, end of story.

The kicker is that most people aren’t too bothered about the deal, but are more annoyed at the complete lack of understanding the CMA have in regards of the whole industry.

Virtually all the economies are bound to shrink including USA except for India and China and even out of them only India is showing positive growth and China is basically stagnant.
Other thing that is happening globally on a rapid pace is de-dollarization, due to which US dollar is slowly its power globally. And it will and is going to affect USA sooner or later.
I honestly don’t care why or on what grounds the deal was blocked on, we’re missing the point which is the FTC is now aligned with the UK, the EU is likely to follow at this point. Cutting losses should be first priority at this point imo.

UGH. Can’t say that im surprised because im not. This shit is never going to end. In all honesty, I believe that Microsoft should just walk away and move on. Stay away from publishers unless they’re small and just concentrate on acquiring development studios because if they lose the appeal which I do believe they will, all this is, is a waste of money, time and resources. It’s obvious that regulators are never going to allow Microsoft to truly compete due to them being a $2T dollar company so some times, you just got to say fuck it and move on.
