Is that not why Xbox users want Sony to buy SE though? So that Sony blows money on an acquisition that doesn’t hurt Xbox at all?
Square still makes great AA games for Switch and with how awful Octopath 2 has sold on Playstation I’d think Sony would nip such games in the bud, would be very unfortunate.
I do not see this acquisition happening though so I’m not worried.

Unpopular opinion. i hope MS makes all future ABK games multiplatform and not just CoD. As long as the games come to Game Pass i am good. also doing this would make it more likely that MS can acquire more studios and publishers in the future without much scrutiny.

I think Overwatch, COD and games like those are ok to be multiplat but stuff like Diablo, Spyro and the like should be exclusive same with any new IP even if it is multiplayer.

Some people just like to dismiss everything that destroys their narratives because they’re trolls or miserable people who just have to be right to feel validated. Keep that in mind today, because as I said not too much earlier, you can set a fucking clock to it.

Clearly this deal is going to go through now. The CMA is well aware of the public scrutiny around this, and you don’t update the provisional findings in that manner without heading toward passing of the deal. Sure, they still have to address “cloud concerns”, but Microsoft is so far out in front already on that and will do whatever else is necessary there to ensure the passage. This game is over, end of story. And Sony knows it too now.
