What i was wondering, been following this thing way to close. Hasnt played out like any ‘expert’ has predicted honestly.
What rumors
Glad to see hoeg getting better
He came back at a right time.
At this point get rid of that crap. Increase price of gamepass ultimate to 17.99 and make gold free. It will balance the blow and bring more players to xbox.
Glad to see him back as well. There’s been too many speculations running rampant. A real good source. I do recall Colin saying he won’t try to chime in too much until Hoeg’s back cos he said he’d only go with his knowledge on the matter.
They’ll probably just make online free with no games attached. Change Gold to Gamepass lite with Day one delayed for 6months with limited number of games. Regular Gamepass goes to 14.99 and ultimate between 17.99 and 19.99.
Gamepass lite 4.99, add supported no day 1 games. Gamepass 9.99, no add no gold but has day 1 games. Gamepass Ultimate 14.99, with gold/perks day 1 games, Gamepass Ultra 19.99. with gold/perks/DLC day 1 games.
That is my guess. I don’t think paying for online play is going away, they will roll it into gamepass tier.
I think they should increase Ultimate to $20 a month, eliminate Gold making online co-op/multiplayer free, get the Ubisoft vault (old games ala EA Play) into Ultimate and then include all the first party DLC and expansions to balance it all out. Also, have a full one year option for $180 which would be the original $15 price tag but you’re locked in for a year. Keep base at $10 a month and introduce Cloud only when it’s all ready to go for $5 a month.
That cloud only tier honestly needs to come out asap if they want that mass market appeal on mobile imo.
Wondering if like the EU competition commission we hear how the negotiations with the CMA have gone in the next week or two? I presume Microsoft and their advising lawyers waited for the submission of issues from the UK & EU before offering the remedies to try and align alleviating said issues. Hopefully the strategy worked but I’m still worried about the CMA as they seem a bit of a wild card
It’s not a good look if Sony decided to sign the contract after decisions or even right before. It only makes them look like they have been soundly defeated.
Microsoft has addressed the CMA’s theories of harm. Let’s also remember this are theories not facts. If they are going to reject the remedies they will have to show how it doesn’t address their concerns as well as show the structural options as the better. I just don’t think they can and they are still bound by law. Microsoft has entertained their political ideologies so far to close on time but they can still push this all the way to the courts and get their pound of flesh. The CMA has gotten their tough outlook, it time for approval now.
I just realized. Did Sony actually say that they can’t bring the documents in because it’s in Japanese?
That’s what I remember reading.
That’s as effective as saying the dog ate all the documents, they don’t get to have any buts or reasons not to do it as they’re subpoenaed. Sure they complained and got it so the documents were more recent but now they have to hand them over.
So it’s true then? If that argument actually succeeded, that will give so many shady company or upcoming ones an idea to pull this ploy. My God, the world will be in a shamble mess. Well, messier…
