I don’t think there’d be anything in the Diablo contract that says they couldn’t put it Day 1
CoD isn’t happening because of the marketing deal with Sony, that’s obvious but everything else should be fair game
FTC should look into Others. Clearly a monopoly.

Well, so far this deal is going exactly like the experts told us it would. EU will pass, the FTC irrelevant.
So, now expect the CMA to block it. It’s the wrong decision but MS were up against an org who wants to make a name for themselves. Nothing they could do, bar, splitting up Activision would satisfy them.
To me, it’s just another thing to blame on brexshite.
Eh Foss seems pretty confident CMA will be receptive to the behavioral concessions and should be good to go

Ya boi Idas stated that the CMA would pass without remedies if the EU passed just a few months ago. Safe to say most of these “experts” don’t have a clue.

Of course no one has a clue but it’s seeming more and more likely the deal will go through, so it’s a happy day for gamers everywhere… Except resetera where people are having meltdowns in the ABK thread. I saw one poster saying ms should be growing organically like Sony 
Wasn’t marketing deal by Sony going to end next year or so? Can’t MS do as they please after that?

Well, all is well then. This is exactly what we’ve been expecting regarding CoD. So starting from 2025 we should be seeing CoD day and date on the service. If the deal succeeds, that is.
Wonder how much longer it will take before we get the final say on it all.
Rumors are Live Gold will be dead soon and will be replace by a Game Pass lite version.

This would be a smart play. Replace Gold with Game Pass Lite, then make all online free to play.
Having the COD marketing + free online could be huge.

I’m referring to if/when the deal closes, Sony will still have marketing preventing Day 1 CoD releases
If the Deal closes by June, MS should have no issue with Diablo unlike CoD

Im assuming the backcatalog wont really be affected by Sony, will it?
Maybe some of the recent CoD’s like Vanguard might still be blocked or have a “gotta have it on PS+ if you’re putting it elsehwere” type clause but id say anything released 2 or more years ago should be fine but it’s just a guess
Only MW2 due to recency IMO. Everything up to Vanguard im sure will be day 1.
Personally im looking forward to the 360 Cods, The prototype bundle and the crash/spyro remasters.
