Microsoft Acquiring Zenimax/Bethesda

Matt was never reliable. He just does what I do, and uses educated speculation. It’s possible to call things if you just look at trends and the way things are going

Even the publishing arm I hope will put Into MS as a whole

Don’t forget that Destiny 2 + all Expansions as well. Microsoft in bed with every publisher in the gaming industry for Game Pass

Imagine how awkward it would be for Pete Hines to draw out discussions with Sony while knowing they were being bought by MS…lol

No, he said he expected Xbox to be more powerful but has been dismissing anything MS offers for tech innovations for literally a decade now. He tells Sony fans what they wanna hear and has always been rewarded with attention ever since.

Is he among us? /s

The answer, we all know, is no.

There was pretty broad based support for the idea that Sony was out adding value for their customers with their rash of times exclusive deals, even when they came from developers traditionally aligned with Microsoft.

I feel torn about the whole thing. I have lots of friends who love these franchises who play on PlayStation and aren’t egging Sony’s aggressive timed deals on through social media. A lot of them will likely have to play through other platforms, even if the barrier to entry is low for something like a Series S or xCloud. That’s disappointing.

But at the same time these deals weren’t stopping, they we’re getting worse if anything. And while my ideal world is every developer developing games for all platforms that just isn’t reality. We now know Sony was trying to get timed exclusivity for Starfield of all things.

At the end of the day I’m just not interested in Microsoft sitting around and passively letting Sony make Xbox a terrible place to play. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander in this case. I hope the fanboys realize what they kicked off cause buying Bethesda was nothing for Microsoft financially.

Beware the ban! /s

He is not worth discussing anymore, waste of time, let’s just get back to topic please lol

I’m still shook my head still can’t process, man how it is possible? May I stand unshaken?

I hope so, but I wouldn’t hold my breath for it.

Lol. Tell me about, although he had a duty to discuss it because the acquisition could have fallen through. However, I wonder if Sony ever got wind of the sale.

Don’t want to derail the thread and this isn’t a personal attack just an observation. But the person mentioned is always vague enough where he can wiggle out of actually confirming anything.

But yes lets say on topic

The way many PS-fans have acted, even casual ones in my circles, I have 0 sympathy. They would have applauded this if it was Sony. They just don’t understand the incredible power behind Xbox nowadays, I tried to explain it when all of this started a couple years ago but nah they have kept their arrogant attitude. Well, now they are beginning to understand.

If MS are serious about driving players towards gamepass they’ll keep games like Starfield exclusive. As you know with Sony it would not even be a question. I mean we know they were plotting to make it a timed exclusive already.

This also serves another purpose with not having a PS5 version the team can use the full power of the Xbox Series X.

Mr. Matty Plays is pretty good. He has a podcast every week with ACG (Karak). He’s a huge Bethesda Game Studios, Obsidian and InXile fan.

The Matt guy from resetera and any playstation insider not named Colin, Shinobi or Dusk Golem have been wrong every single time.

To make it simple, I as a nobody has a better accuracy percentage. lol.

This is what I find funny about people debating whether the games will now be exclusive when if it was Sony it wouldn’t even be a debate lol. Until I see otherwise all the games will be Xbox / PC exclusive apart from edge cases.

Just a quick thought before I go to bed!

Many professional commenters I have seen arguing that MS/Xbox have to release Bethesda games on Playstation because of install base in order to recoup some of the investment.

But they forget: Those games are highly likely next gen only (Starfield for instance). Means those 120m PS4s don’t count anymore for those decisions. All what actually will count is how to bring more people into the Xbox ecosystem. That will be the method to recoup the money.

And how they will do it? They restrict access to those games to their own ecosystem --> make them exclusive. I think the heavy hitters (that actually moves consumers) will be Xbox/PC exclusive but some of the not so prominent games will find its way to other consoles as well including Playstation.

Yep I know him. Really cool guy down to earth. Seeing him excited was good. But I’m even more excited than him for the RPG side future of XBOX. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Wowsers, still can’t get over this news. All those studios and teams making content for Game Pass.

Wowsers.

Exactly 100%. For example, Fallout 76, ESO, the online mmo or small impact games stay on PS for mtx and royalties. The big heavy hitters system sellers only Xbox and PC

Plus Bethesda never mentionned the platforms so they’re free to do whatever they want.

Also strange how now they’re asking if it comes to PS. They didn’t ask that for FFXVI. They were bragging about it. They say it’s bad for the industry while begging Sony to do the same. Lmao what a logic
