To the risk of being a bit late, I found Andromeda okay/good. The script fell short compared to the original games for me, but I prefered some companions and their development in Andromeda than some in ME1 ( namley Kaiden, Ashley and Garrus ). The gameplay though I liked it quite much and I really loved the verticality and dynamism of it all.
What I regret most however is that Bioware didn’t play enough with the idea that you are an explorer. At first, I expected that we would be the very first to discover planets and make contacts, with relationships between the Milky Way and Andromeda races changing based on your first interaction with them. Maybe even teaching them your languague, or at least giving them a translator. Instead, most of the planets we went, there were already someone there from the arks, and most of the races already knew about us and how to communicate with us, so the first contact already happened. I expected more from the true first explorer side.
The music was a mix bag, some themes were great and others a bit transparent for me.
Otherwise, I’m so pumped for the remaster.
Yeah at the risk of going off again on Andromeda, its a shame they neither made any attempt to discuss colonialism nor lean into being the true pioneers, as you say everyone was setup, and also just a bunch of arseholes. Oh I’d forgotten just how short sighted, foolish, venal and idiotic the rest of the initiative seemed to be. It was like the Arks had been filled with that useless third of the galaxy no one liked, The Golgafrincham “B” Ark like in Hitchhikers guide 
Yeah there were some good themes in the soundtrack, but again not a patch on what had come before, so much left in silence too.
In hindsight I appreciate what that Bioware team managed to build in 18 months to get the game out and the worst thing was that EA pulled the plug on it too early and unreservedly tbh when compared to Anthem per say. Some story based DLC with the Quarian arc and more stuff with the Jardaan would had done wonders.
yeah my humour is a tad dry. Joking aside, nearly preordered myself today, but will wait for my fellow Sheps on here to feedback on their travels first 
Yep, and not only that they unceremoniously killed off Anthem too, (which while not great, I had fun with). 2 Projects they had clearly had enough of 
Well Anthem had no future and investing time and money into a no guarantee of success reboot wasnt the brightest business venture irrelevant of how people felt for the game tbh. It sucks but the reality was that Anthem spent 2 years doing nothing in meaningful content or any updates that could had kept people interested or saying “ooh thats neat”. They betted on a longshot reboot and EA said they were good lol.
For Mass Effect is was unexplainable.
Andromeda for me was a tough start, because…look, it made sense, story-wise. Due to the Reaper invasion, another galaxy may have been the only way for the involved species’ to carry on
But I always get miffed any time I see scientist’s or lay people talking about exploring other Galaxies. Because it’s like we’re skipping a giant huge step, which is…how about getting out of our own friggin Star System first guys? We haven’t even reached Mars yet and people are wasting energy on how would we achieve the speed of light, or fold space to get to other galaxies
You know how many millions of stars are in our own Galaxy? That is our future (hopefully). Not Andromeda, or Sagittarius, or Canis, or whatever…but again, in the Mass Effect fiction it made sense. It just didn’t excite, or interest me as much
I agree with everything you’ve said here. This would be my main complaint against Andromeda.
It was quite a let-down to discover things like first contact having already been made & the Milky Way species already having settlements on most of the explorable planets.
A missed opportunity for sure.

Waiting for FPS boost for Mass Effect Andromeda. That gameplay can’t be beat.
That would be lovely. It got an Xbox One X enhancement too, after I was already done with it. The only Mass Effect game I’ve only played one time.
Just an FYI for those waiting on reviews - review codes aren’t being sent out until Friday at the earliest as EA wants to ensure everyone that is reviewing the game are playing with the day one update. So I would expect reviews 7-10 days after the collection releases on Friday.

The only thing half decent was the gameplay…but ME isn’t just abotu the gunplay. The gameplay in ME1-3 arent’ spectacular. It was never about that.
Mass Effect 1-3 were some of the best sci fi games ever made. Andromeda was not even on the same Galaxy(no pun intended).

But even at launch i’d say it was bad. I haven’t touched Andromeda since launch. I don’t care if they fixed some technical issues. I will never go back to that.
Cancelled my Amazon order and went digital instead. That way I got the 6000 reward points from the punch card.
However, I did end up ordering a spare Xbox game case to keep my custom cover prints in.

I am struggling here, I used to go soldier and I used the rest of my squad to fill Tech/Bio. I was thinking of having Tali and Liara this run… but then thats leaves me as soldier again
Maybe Vanguard this time.
I’m running Soldier because in all my times playing through the games, I never did yet.
The other classes are so much fun. I hope Soldier can measure up without the special powers.

I get its one thing to not like the game but you would think Andromeda is an unplayable piece of shit the way he phrased it. Could it had been way better game? Yeah but there is a lot going on that impeded it from that and even so I think it came out decently.
Also think a lot of people expected 3 games worth of payoff in 1 outing in Andromeda.
