They would have to reboot it… and do it right. The premise is great, then it all fell apart. Look how everyone here is talking about their favourite companions from the Mass Effect trilogy, in Andromeda all I wanted to do was kill all the insufferably bad companions. The whole game is like that.
Hey I get the love, I put 100’s of hours into the trilogy. My question is, why is everyone assuming this remaster is good? I will buying straight away once that is confirmed, but surely as it stands, isnt it a risk preordering, especially with EA at the helm. i.e is there any hands on, reviews which know this remaster is golden?
Erm, fairly obvious that you are pre ordering an edition which hasnt been confirmed as all good?
I’ve never thought it was entirely fair to compare the characters that people came to know & love over the course of a whole trilogy, with the new cast who only got one game.
Also, Drack is one of the best characters that BioWare ever created.
But anyway, one of the things they could do with Andromeda 2 would be to jump forward many years & introduce more new characters. That’s the thing about Andromeda, the possibilities. It was just getting started.
Edit: @anon86044554 the Mass Effect trilogy isn’t going to be good?!
I could’ve sworn that I already played it & it was awesome
At least you got far enough to form an opinion. For me all the technical issues with the game had me give up far too soon unfortunately.
Maybe not completely fair, but on the other hand I loved my Normandy crew after the first game so…
The only good thing, like you mentioned, was the possibilites. The idea is great, and it could have been an awesome game.
Yeah, I had those too. I lost my saves, the game looked like shit etc. But I played it through, and did everything, so I have a solid base for my opnions. Think I clocked almost 100 hours in it… hate-playing it hoping it would turn into something good. My biggest gaming disappointment so far.
Not sure why this isnt getting through. I’m asking, how do you know this remaster is technically sound, i.e a sure thing? The trilogy is brilliant, but how do we know they’ve done the job well on this specific remaster?
I liked the Andromeda cast better than Mass Effect 3 for example lol.
Peebe was a nice different take on Asari, Drack is a goat, Vetra the first female turian super interesting and we had Jaal as the resident native with a completely different perspective than what we were used to. Plus I actually liked the human companions here.
Dude I’m just messing around.
It’s the Mass Effect trilogy. I’m pretty sure that nothing terrible is going to happen when I sit down to play it in a couple of days.
Ah sorry man. Hey I’m wanting to pre order it too. Its just, well, its EA and they dont have the greatest rep for not screwing things up. My fingers and toes are crossed
Btw are there any pre order bonuses?
I liked the characters in Andromeda as well. They had a different energy. Most of them were a bit younger, more naive & optimistic when compared to most of the original cast. Grumpy Drack was like the old, wise head trying to keep an eye on them, to see that they didn’t stray too far off base.
All of the loyalty missions were great, really. I can’t remember one that wasn’t enjoyable & that didn’t end with me liking the character even more. Liam’s especially. I found him a bit obnoxious to begin with but by the end of his loyalty mission it was like making a friend who you had misjudged in real life. I’ve done that before & it was the same vibe.
I’ve honestly always thought that people were too quick to judge them & too reluctant to give in to the different style of Andromeda in general. It was more light-hearted across the board. I think that turned a lot of people off immediately.
Not that I’m aware of. I didn’t even check
What is the big potential pitfall that you are expecting?
@anon15396042 minor technical issues Aside I do believe Andromeda was one of the first games last gen the internet actively killed before release. I found it disheartening and after learning more about how much work that studio put in 18 months to try and get the game out cause main bioware was too busy wasting time and money with Anthem made me value it more.
Worth every second of playtime. Breathtaking.
I will give one thing to Andromeda though, and probably the reason I was able to power through all those hours, the combat was really good and satisfying.
I just couldn’t deal with the YA-feeling.
Dang, shots fired
Andromeda was a pile of dung crap. Sorry. Absolute garbage ass game that should be removed from existence.
Anyhow. When do previews hit for this? Interested to see how mass effect 1 plays. Not sure if I’ll buy yet
