Summed it up for me quite well.
ME1 is definitely a better game in its LE form than it was before. I never really bothered with most of the uncharted worlds exploration in the original game. That stuff is much easier to appreciate now that we no longer have to deal with long load screens, 20 fps performance, the impossible to control Mako, etc.
I still prefer ME2 overall though. The shooting still feels great to me and the voice acting and squadmate interactions are unmatched.
Summed it up for me quite well.
Finished my first run through the legendary edition. Synthesis achieved.
What a fantastic trilogy of games. Still to this day, brilliant.
Man I hope BioWare recapture some of this magic for Dragon Age 4
Dont know why Jez was sorta fearmongering with EA possibly ruining DA4 like 3 days ago. I got faith Bioware will pull it together and deliver a great game cause lord knows EA has over the last years shown blind faith after their horrid xbox one era.
Jez’s fears are based on his love of the franchise combined with EA’s track record the past few years. Bioware has lost a lot of their best creative people. It doesn’t mean they can’t find other top creative people in the industry who were inspired by Mass Effect or Dragon Age. They could return to form. There is only hope to go off of right now though.
I’ll need to come back to this thread when I have more time but want to say I beat ME2 and 3 for the first time. Just finished a few days ago. It’s jumped up to my #2 on my personal all time list. The characters, the journey and the music all set a bar that wasn’t exceeded last gen. I had feels going into the final stretch of ME3 that I haven’t felt in a videogame before. I uninstall games right after I beat them…and doing it with ME Legendary hurt a little. There’s a hole in my games lineup right now.
I enjoyed the heck out of ME3. Still processing but think it was my favorite because of how emotionally invested I became by the end of it. The Suicide Mission in ME2 is still one of the most unique things ever in gaming.
My bet is the DLC and extended ending helped ME3 hit a lot better for me than it did for most people during the OG release. I completed all the side missions which is rare for me to do in any game…although I didn’t get all the war assets so…
Isnt EA track record lately leaving the studios alone particularly since the new leadership stepped in + Respawn took a major role in the culture change. Im sure the game will turn out fine cause lord knows Bioware needs it.
Started ME3. Already having more fun combat wise than 2 lol.
3 easily has the best combat. Playing as a Vanguard with high level Charge, Nova and Flare in 3 is such a power fantasy
Let me say that Aria is a fucking beast lmao and amazing character. Probably the best non companion character in the trilogy.
Nyreen really got the short end of the stick though in that DLC. Her death was just treated like nothing at the end. No mention of her from Aria, or Shephard in any of the dialogue afterward. Wasn’t thrilled about that
First time playing and after having lost Garrus at the end of ME2 my heart cannot handle all these losses in the first 15 hours of ME3
Your playthrough is invalid at this point and you have to start over.
I’ve got to live my decisions o7
Although Wrex has made it so far, he’s my fav so I’m beaming every time I see him
My playthrough i lost Mordin, I am gutted.
Yeh I love Mordin, close second favourite
How? When?
At the end, he was on the away team heading back while you deal with the human reaper thing.
I think it was because although I completed his mission for his loyalty, I didn’t stop him before he killed his friend and he was a bit bummed about it.
I don’t think that matters. If you completed his loyalty, it must have had to do with who you selected for the final missions.
