I said enhance them with raw power, not corrupt them!

I will not be paying $80 and may skip the system altogether. Kinda bummed from what I thought was originally a fantastic Direct. All of this post info is really bad.

It usually happens to Sony, but Nintendo is on full speed with these news.

To test the waters with one game, TotK, at 70 and Pass Go straight to 80 is a bit nuts. I hope they crash land and everyone’s bodies are burned beyond recognition and they can’t even find a set of teeth to match the carnage for loved ones.

A Play - By Johnny Arms

Nintendo: “Hey From Software. Would you like to make an exclusive game for our new system?”

From Software: “What? Lol. Come on man stop joshin’. Thanks, but we have a pretty good thing going.”

Nintendo: “We are charging kids $80 for games.”

From: “Bloodbourne 2 will be a system exclusive on the Switch 2.”

Nintendo Switch 2: buy it day one to play remasters and worse versions of third-party games

Mario Kart World is not enough for me to buy it day one, and that From Software game is a co-op game apparently

The S2 wasn’t a day one for me perse, but I was planning on selling the Switch, see if I can get a good deal and then pay a little for the S2. But that price, nah man.

And that’s only the console, not even a game yet. Nah.

Just, nah.

Quite a misinformation. Not every Switch 2 Cart is going to be Game-Key and the box will be clearly labeled if it is.

It was inevitable with increased performance allowing for higher quality audio and higher res textures. Maybe even prerendered cutscenes. All that could push required cart size beyond the point of affordability, leading to digital only release anyway.

Perhaps it will also allow publishers to opt-out of usual ROM+Patch model so that digital version of the game won’t have to keep files that are replaced in the patch.

glad to hear, catching up on everything late always leads to things like this

Yeah. The last NBA game I bought was 2K22 on the Switch - physical. It didn’t have anything but a key on it. But with N upping the size of the HDD so dramatically I bet more and more publishers will go this key route.

That and on the direct itself they said they were switching carts for more data and speed. That wouldn’t make sense to just have a key on a better card.

Cool, now John Linneman can stop acting like physical games that require additional downloads is an Xbox specific issue.

Especially when… you know, it’s been a universal issue (Switch 1 wasn’t even exempt from examples of that).

Essentially, we are witnessing Xbox One reborn, now with price hike.

With nary a word from the same pitchfork-wielding braindeads…

It’s not your fault, Nintendo has a huge communication problem with this new console. I feel like we’re back in the Wii U days.

I wouldn’t bet on the success of this console. Nintendo is selling a family console at a premium price. It doesn’t make sense. I hope Xbox announces its portable console this year. It’s the right time for them.

Yup, but now it’s out there in black and white.

I expect that having the full game files on the physical disc with no additional download required, is suddenly going to become much less important to the usual suspects.

When it comes to respecting consumers it is PC>Xbox>PS>Nintendo. Today was more about Nintendo reconfirming their place in the bottom of that list more than anything else.

I’m already seeing the defense force saying “You’re not allowed to be mad about this because other consoles already do it” … except the pitchforks come out when other consoles do it, so being mad at Nintendo is just keeping the same energy.

to be fair the defense force is still reeling from Bloodbourne 2. I’m seeing “sony is still making money from it” and what not.
