Finished Persona 4 Golden and it was my first time playing a Persona game since P5 in 2017 lol. Can’t believe I waited so long to play another Persona game… that’s because I fell into the SMT rabbit hole instead lol. On the bright side I got to play P4 for my first time on Xbox.
I was pretty surprised at how much I was not spoiled on, only knowing the culprit which is probably the hardest to avoid spoiler. Everything else though, didn’t know anything about, and yes I enjoyed the story and especially the setting a lot.
I’ve still not touched P5 Royal or P3 Portable yet, I’m wondering if P3P is even worth it with the remake coming. P5R might leave GP in October (or be permanent like Yakuza maybe?) but I am expecting the physical version to be dirt cheap on black friday anyway.
I also finished Atelier Marie last week. Not too much to say because there really isn’t a story and the dialogue is extremely barebones. Only took about 10 hours and that was with seeing most of the events. The gameplay though is pretty addictive, you’re mainly spending your time passing in quests at the bar which are all simple enough. While you do have a very lenient time limit to complete the game (5 in game years, which actually goes by very quick), I essentially had nothing left to do on year 4 and just slept for 1 year LOL. Synthesizing isn’t too involved in this game, you buy your weapons and armor, you can still make overpowered bombs though. The cutscenes with the 2D animated portraits look very nice as well. A nice bite-sized JRPG to finish in a few days, just as the back of the box states “A cozy, carefree RPG”.
A bit unfortunate that that Atelier reveal last month ended up being for a mobile game. I guess -this- month will answer if we see it come to Xbox.
Now as always for TGS JRPGs I would like to see this
