Xbox has the marketing right for Tales of Arise and Elden Ring.
Why not though Microsoft isn’t doing timed exclusive here. Just free to game pass subscribers. Game would still sell like hot cakes on ps and steam. Plus game pass subscribers would buy the game if they like it enough. Microsoft could be like if you put the game on game pass we will give up our portion of the games digital sale.
Cant look at these gamepass deals as ok now everybody is going to get it free. Gamepass only has 10 + million subs and there are 60 million xbox ones. You would still get sales on xbox because alot of people believe in ownership. If microsoft said we wont take that 30% cut of the digital sale like sony if you put it on gamepass. That could offset alot of the potential sales loss in the xbox ecosystem
My money is on ea. Remember the rumors that ‘sony is mad at ea’. I would love Namco Bandai however… even square could be a possibility. I do not think it is Sega because Yakuza 7 is on the horizon.
Can not wait.
It will be Warner now that i think about it.
Square is cozy with Playstation.
Sony has no hope of ‘taking out’ Xbox, lol. People are delusional if they think some 3rd party games being timed exclusive will have the monumental important folks seem to be dreaming up.
Yet ANOTHER reason???.. hell yeah!
Could it possibly be GamePass integrating with Steam in the same way EA Access will do/does now? Imagine being able to get your GamePass games via Steam rather than the Windows store?
buy 2 years of game pass - get a free Xbox Series S
This literally just came to me in a half sleep…You know what I reckon the publisher deal is…Codemasters. It fits everything. A publisher not everyone will care about. Tick. A business deal that probably makes sense all round. Tick. Dirt 5 getting heavy promotion. Tick.
I have absolutely no evidence but I’m not completely convinced. All the EA talk is just wishful thinking. Such a deal would make no sense.
I just want more Japanese games on Game Pass. Yakuza has spoiled me.
I think MS were 50/50 at one point this gen. Phil said we either go all in or get out. If xCloud failed and we have another generation the same as this one and by the same I mean where MS lose 40% of their market share to Sony, do you think they would stay around?
Not for 1 second do I think this will happen. All I’m saying is it suits 3rd parties to have as many strong partners as possible as it gives them greater leverage.
yeah, I literally said Xbox has had marketing rights for Fromsoft the past two years in the very comment you replied to XD
Completely agree. But you seem to ignore the kind of moves Sony is willing to make just for other platforms not getting anything either for a duration or just, at all. If MS goes to Bandai and tells “release this on Game Pass”, there’s good reason to believe Sony shall step in to actively prevent that. I don’t wanna sound conspiratorial but all recent evidence points to the simple fact of Sony’s model for the immediate future of their console being about other platforms not getting stuff.
Makes sense, Dirt 5 could come in at launch on Game Pass to (kinda) fill the void of no Forza for the time being.
Really hoping it’s Ubisoft. If not, WB Games would be good especially if the rumors of Sony having exclusive content in Batman and Suicide Squad are true. Like, he’s you free shitty content on PS5 but on Series X, day one on Game Pass.
Well therefore they can’t just make it exclusive to Playstation.
Good point. Sega has yet to announce the remaining Yakuza games, but I bet they are coming I mean…come on. Did they sell well and/or was it played well on GP?
I don’t have the metrics but learnt they have meet a good success indeed. I suppose they are spacing out the releases to let them breath and give time to enjoy to players. Strategic planning.
Absolutely. I need to start with these games. I’m a crazy person, lol. For the longest time I wanted Yakuza to come to Xbox badly and here I am playing some indie games and stuff. One of these days I intend to start with Witcher 3’s Blood and Wine. With this hobby, you’re never bored.
If GP wasn’t successful, they’d have returned to fight the traditional fight against Sony. But they had a few yrs to see it become a huge success, and their investments are starting to pay off. So theya re continuing that route. I’m more inclined to foresee Sony losing marketshare if anything. They are heading into a generation where the ground under their feet is super shaky and in some areas is a ticking time bomb. I sincerely think MS’s approach will make Xbox synonymous with gaming in the yrs to come.
We shall see.
I agree with you. I really think Gamepass will become the Netflix of gaming.
