Jason Schreier: Sony’s Obsession With Blockbusters Is Stirring Unrest Within PlayStation Empire

I did not

I respectfully disagree. I did like some of the new stuff it did, though! Are you excited for the remake (to be slightly on topic lol)?

I would be if I havent played it in october/november last year and also 60€ does not cut it.

Damn, that tweet from HoegLaw has me seriously cracking up.

Oof, didn’t realize it was full-price. Those Nintendo games usually don’t go down in price either :frowning:

I liked The Last of Us a lot when I played it on PS3, but I think it’s too early to remake it and don’t really feel the need to revisit it, especially at full price. If it’s like 30 bucks or something, then that’s another story but I don’t really see that happening.

Indeed, absolutely hilarious how an Uncharted remake could ever be considered a risky gaming investment.

Why not Remake a game like Jak and Daxter, Legend of the Dragoon, ect

Those are not mature games.

My guess is trying to capitalize on the show and sequel. I’m sure their decisions are heavily based on analysis of market trends and whatnot. Not to say that that means they’re 100% accurate or wise.

So what if they are not mature to me The Last of us 1 doesnt need a Remake

True just feel they could do something with their older games doesnt need to be the ones I named just point out they could use it alot more then The Last of us

Because Sony doesn’t respect old games.

Haha true

Point being, Naughty Dog has “grown” and is not focused on kiddy games anymore.

Why not those? Because the studio that started this remake thought it was one of the few ideas that would be seen as “viable” to Sony. An Uncharted remake was considered too risky, Jak and Daxter, Legend of Dragoon had no chance with that kind of mindset.

Too risky.

I was talking about Sony overall not just Naughty dog and to me a 8 year old game does not need a Remake

Oh yeah, I agree with you, but I think if someone tried to make that point in a boardroom, they’d have to bring a hell of an argument and some compelling figures. Again, not to say that a hypothetical TLoU remake would be a slam dunk, I can’t possibly say.

I guess but when I think of games that need a Remake no 8 year old games come to mind to me it just a me problem tho

It’s ok, this should be a normal thought process, but Sony wants to milk Tlou for those awards.
