Introduce Yourselves!

I’m about to be 33(August 7th), First game I ever played was Sonic 2, my sister rented the system from a local video store at the time. Man, how times have changed lol.

I’m an avid game collector because I really enjoy the hobby. Huge Sega fan, and once the Dreamcast’s flame went out I jumped directly to the Xbox. It just seemed like the perfect advancement(which sega seemed to think as well, since the chihiro arcade machine was basically an original Xbox with more ram). I play all systems, but I’ve always loved the Xbox ecosystem;always will. I can’t wait for Series X!

As generically as possoble its a sci-fi war of the roses inspired tale with some gods and goddesses mixed in. I probably sold it horribly but I’m happy with the progress I’m making on it. Thanks for asking!

Make sure to plug it here when you’re done!

Will do!

Should probably say hello, since this is an all-new community, though hopefully anyone coming over from Era will recognise me. I’ll keep it brief for now:

London, Arsenal fan, non-binary, likes gaming, anime, goth/metal, generally pretty upbeat (despite being an Arsenal fan).

Nice to meet you all

Hello. I’m 23 and from Bangalore, India. I love art and video games. I studied Industrial Design in college but got deeply interested in 3D as a medium for my creative pursuits and as a result, the gaming industry is a major space for that professional interest, so I am currently pursuing a career as a 3D artist, be it in games, vfx, advertising or visualization.

I’m a PC gamer and the only console I’ve owned is a Playstation 2 back in 2004-2005, which luckily still works super good! Loved that console, but over the years, PC has just dominated as a preferred platform for me. Now being that PC gamer made me naturally more interested in Xbox taking this platform seriously for their first parties and as a monumentally good service that is Game Pass, which tbh is a godsend in a country like ours, where piracy is rampant and big games cost so much. Gaming itself is still seen to be a distraction not worth paying a lot of money for, having forced many people in their earlier age to find alternative avenues (rentals, borrows, and more commonly, piracy). Game Pass honestly solves this problem to a good degree I feel, by eliminating the need to put down a lot of money to play one or two games and instead going the route of steady subscriptions. Majority here are already paying good money for their mobile network and internet, so this shall naturally fit in at a reasonable cost and low barrier to entry.

On the other hand, mobile and free to play has dominated our culture here, even though I’m not invested in mobile as much anymore, not enough developers seem to be making the next masterpiece like Monument Valley or Sword and Sworcery. This is where Xcloud comes in. Xbox has promised India to be one of the countries it’ll eventually come to, and I see the service taking off to a rather ridiculous level, this and other Asian countries could be primarily where Microsoft’s “reaching a billion gamers” plan shall be battle tested. All I hope it they provide an option for just Xcloud as a separate sub down the line without game pass so you could just play the games you bought permanently from the store.

Anyway, that took a wild tangent, but I wanted to bring a unique perspective based on my location and upbringing to this forum so as to why I personally care for Xbox’s future more than its competitors. Playstation still sells much better here, but the coming gen is not gonna be a war of hardware sales, it’s not gonna be a war at all as Sony is sticking to its traditional console sale model and Xbox has moved on to services and active users. All in all, that’s my introduction, hope it was insightful and would love to take part in this community and conversation in the coming days and hopefully years. Cheers!

An interesting perspective for sure! Welcome!

Panda from West Virginia.

I play multiple consoles but Xbox is my preference. I’m usually on Destiny 2 everyday. I listen to Music Streaming and Podcasts when playing any game. I’m a Multiplayer gamer not a Single Player gamer much anymore- only play them when I’m bored.

My personal life I’ll try to keep it short to remember.

Hi,

I’m Natalie from the Caribbean. Though I’m trying to put down roots in Seattle.

I’m primarily a Nintendo gamer but have owned every system from the big 3 for the last two gens. I love platformers, arcade racers, life sims, fantasy rpgs and the occasional shooter. Got started on Xbox with the 360 primarily, all due to Fable 2 (alongside Gears) , had my fun with that system. Never really left the ecosystem with One, but with the big changes starting in 2018 between gamepass, fable rumors, xcloud, everwild, and rumors of a planned low cost next gen system I’ve been more psyched than ever before to be part of the Xbox community. Looking forward to Fable, Avowed and Everwild (and the inevitable next Forza Horizon) most of all.

I also started my Xbox ownership with Fable 2 packed in with Halo 3. While I spent more time on the latter, I’m so thrilled both are coming back in the near future. Playground has my trust.

Almost forgot - welcome aboard!

Hello, 37 years old. Born in PA, but moved to Indiana to get my degree(and of course in turn get a job that had nothing to do with said degree), settle down, and do the whole wife and kids business.

I play some on PS4, mainly on X1X(scooped a Cyberpunk console when they dropped, absolutely gorgeous), and I play a little bit of everything. From sports, to shooters, to single player things, and indies, i’m always down to try whatever. Game Pass being a massive reason why, can’t tell you how many games i’ve played on there that I ended up enjoying, that I would have more than likely not given the time of day had it not been for that service.

Anyways, thanks for welcoming me. And from my brief browsing, it seems like a very friendly group from all regions and walks of life, much appreciated.

Just want to say, thanks for letting me join. I’ve tried joining ResetEra twice, and been rejected twice. So happy an Xbox centric forum is here!

Hey I’m Michael, I’m from France and I’m looking forward to what xbox has to offer (even though I don’t play on my xbox anymore)! Mainly play on pc so I’m absolutly for the approach MS is taking, also own a ps4 for their exclusives but would be more than happy if they started doing the same as xbox. First time joining a forum so interested to see how this turns out

Hey!

Love playing on all platforms and currently working on a (~5 month) game of my own (within a team of 6) so im pretty busy but I try to make time for the latest games or at least time to read up on them.

Also really into anime, movies and all that stuff.

(By the way we should get a screenshot thread going, ill post about it in the OT thread as well to see if its taken or not. Same with an NBA thread if enough people want it!)

Hi there names Simon. I’m 32 and from Toronto, Canada (Go Raptors). I was a long time resetera lurker but never made an account because I figured what’s the point if it’s so Sony centric. Big Xbox and PC gamer never really cared for single player games. I think that all stems from my love of the n64 and going to friends houses to play golden eye or sports games. When I finally got a dreamcast and played PSO online it changed my life. When the xbox was announced and was basically dreamcast 2 I knew I needed to have it. So I’ve been a xbox fan since with pc games like WoW and diablo 2 in the mix. Unfortunately I haven’t had much time to play video games this past 8 months due to having a baby boy but I’m so excited for halo infinite as my return to form. In my eyes video games has always been about the social gaming so I dont really see the enjoyment in the single player experience. I cant wait till my son is old enough to play co op with me in halo.
