Introduce Yourselves!

Haha I probably shouldn’t say old, but yeah, I oddly grew up old, if that makes sense? I still have my first DVD (Die Another Day) I got when we switched off VHS. Used to watch a lot of old shows with my mom, because it was either like it or go play with your toys. I got a Sony handycam at 11, and recently I digitized 2hrs of SUPER cringy sketches with action figures and stuffed animals. I am not sure if that will ever see the light of day outside my wife. Lol

Hey, 27 here and yep, I also grew up with VHS. Had an old family camcorder that I used to just love using. There’s a lot of older tech that people around our age used that I think someone in their early 20s or someone in their mid 30s wouldn’t think we did.

Glad to have you here!

Hello, I hope everyone is doing well. I’ve followed XboxEra since day 2 so I thought I’d finally make an account.

Life long Xbox fan (was there day 1 with Halo CE and Dead or Alive 3) and I have owned every generation of Xbox console, my favorite game series is Kingdom Under Fire. Very busy so I’ll likely not post much and still lurk but hopefully I can contribute something positive to the community in time.

Finally someone else who I can properly talk to on this forum.

LOL

I was neck deep in Showdown a few years ago and these days I just run Gen 6 randoms on there and have pockets of fun lol, but lately I’ve been wanting to get back into making proper teams, synergizing, etc tryna compete in a more serious way but haven’t really gotten to do it yet. Other than that, I’ve just been playing ROM hacks and fan games for a good while cuz that’s where I find some amazing Pokemon content that the mainline series as of late hasn’t given as much for me.

So do you do like actual competitive in tournaments and such or is it more casual competitive?

Hi all, name is John. Originally from South East England now living in the North East and work in the Telecommunications industry.

Pretty much properly got into gaming during college studying Graphic Design where I met my now best mate where he lived in the opposite flat to mine while at college. Both massive gaming nerds hooked up our OG Xbox to my mates via a very long ethernet cable to play Halo coop together as we both didn’t have Xbox Live at the time.

By the time Halo 2 launched we both had to get online with Xbox Live and been with Xbox ever since, and although I have had all PlayStation consoles, Xbox has been my main gaming platform. I do enjoy the PlayStation exclusives such the Uncharted series, Spider-Man and Horizon Zero Dawn, but equally massive fan of Forza Horizon, Halo and the Gears of War franchise.

Mostly into shooters and Racers, but since Xbox Game Pass I have found a love for indie games and platformers.

G’day all. I just recently found out about the site via Xbox Expansion Pass podcast, thought it sounded cool so decided to check it out.

I’ve been gaming since the early 1990’s. My first system was a Sega Master System and as you can probably tell from my avatar, I’m a bit of a Sega and Sonic fanboy. After Sega left the console market I moved to PC gaming and played there until the X-Box One. I now own a Series X and really enjoy gaming on X-Box.

Originally from Australia, I now live in the UK. None of my mates here game on X-Box (or are really big gamers, TBH,) so it’s great to find a community like this. Looking forward to chatting with you all.

Cheers.

Welcome to the forum! Cool screen-name: JoeyPajamas.

You’ll find quite a few Aussies here. Nick - one of the two founders of Xboxera is an Aussie, and of course, Jon - who you might have heard on the XEP podcast and is the other founder - is English/Brit.

Thanks. It was nickname my wife just came up with one day - no idea where she got the idea from - and I thought it was hilarious.

Great to see there are other Aussies here. Don’t see us all that much out in the wild.

I’m originally from Australia, so I’ve not gone “back” to the UK. I actually much prefer Vegimite.
